Brilliant game. Got it with my ps4 for christmas (2014) have played the whole game. completed now, but it was brilliant loved every minute. it is between a platform game and a street fighting game to save the world!!! I couldn't put it down. It is up there with crash bandicoot, sonic, mario and all the other great classics there have been over the years. like other people have said it has a great plot and storyline. I love knack from relics,to ice, to wood, to special iron that makes him see through!Knack is a great character, that you will grow to love through the game! my children enjoyed helping me find all the special crystals and relics and watching me beat the baddies!! I hope that they make more great games. I would love to see a knack 2 or sequel to this game. I would reserve it now!!!! What more can i say if you like good platform games then this is definitely one to consider.

Excellent Game. This is the sort of game you will come back to and play hour after hour and enjoy everything about it. The game play is wonderful and is very fluid, the puzzles are interesting, the story line engrossing. It's one of those very very good games that years from now, those who played it will recount it with quiet fondness. It's a lot like Zelda or Mario Super Cart. The game play is simplicity itself but utterly engrossing and engaging. I can put my hand on my heart and say that if I was stuck on a dessert island and could have 3 other games like COD or watchdogs OR I could take just Knack I'd take this. It's simply great and would keep me engaged for weeks. Thoroughly recommended to anyone with a PS4 and for any age really as it's totally inoffensive.

When I went to pre-order my PS4 the one launch time that stood out as something a bit different was Knack. It wasn't the same old shoot 'em up or racing game, it looked something more unique and that is why I picked it as the game to go with my new PS4.

Then the reviews started coming in and really slating the game and I did think about cancelling the pre-order and chording another game but I am so glad I ignored all the negative reviews. Knack is such a fun game to pick up and play. There is no big learning curve like in other games and it is a real throwback to the classic platformers. In fact It's probably one of the best launch titles I've played of any console.

The controls are very easy to learn and the gameplay reminds me a bit of the Ratchey and Clank games, collecting power ups and beating up enemies.

I honestly cannot believe the poor reviews the press have given this game. I think it appeals to a wide audience and adds something a little different to gaming catalogues that are overflowing with FPSs and racing games. I hope Sony make it into a series like Jak and Daxter or Ratchet and Clank.

Knack is a platform/beat em up game that aims to be simple and accessible, but it overshoots the mark to land at simplistic and uninteresting. It's a badly designed little mess of a game that marries a reasonably charming story to some of the most brain-dead, ill-considered action I've ever had the misfortune to slog through. And it just keeps going, and going, and going. There are just about enough ideas in Knack to sustain about two hours of play -- perfect for a bite-sized, low-cost, indie game. Sure the graphics look nice and colorful, but the level design was rubbish, if you've seen one cave in this game then expect them all to look the same.

Mechanically, Knack defines simplicity. The eponymous protagonist can... well, he can punch, basically. There's a little bit of platforming, but it's clumsy (and, thankfully, minimal). Occasionally you'll come across a puzzle, if you can call standing in front of a switch and pressing a button a puzzle. The game also has "secrets" to discover, though you have only a single linear path through the adventure, so finding those secrets amounts to punching conspicuous walls along the only route through the world. I was just constantly left wanting more from the idea than the game was interested in providing.

At certain points in the story, Knack also gains the ability to add extra pieces to his body beyond relics - ice, metal, wood and so on. These new elements provide a layer of armor and allow for harder hits that take out enemies faster. They also let the game mix things up by tweaking common situations. For example, if Knack is decked out in wood armor, you need to be extra careful around goblin archers, who will shoot flaming arrows that can burn away that layer...

I bought Knack as my first PS4 game, and I think the problem and the reason it's gotten bad reviews is because it was hyped up to be the next best thing to Crash Bandicoot.
It isn't, but the game itself is a very enjoyable game and throws back to the platformers of the 90's and early 2000's.
You play as Knack, a little creature composed of mystical items called 'relics', and when you collect more, you grow in size, as well as gain the ability to speak. (Knack is mute when he's the smallest version.)
The gameplay is pretty much a platformer brawler, having you traverse gaps, hazards and enemies, whilst collecting relics and powerup items called Sunstones.
I found the game to be a little repetitive at times, and playing as the smallest Knack at the start of each chapter was probably the least enjoyable part of the game, as the real meat of the game is when Knack is larger and can unleash fresh heck on his enemies.
Although, this is just a minor downside, and the big Knack gameplay, enjoyable and likable characters, great voice acting, absolutely gorgeous graphics, story and replayability more than make up for it.

The short version; Knack isn't Crash Bandicoot, but he can stand on his own two feet and provide a good few hours of entertainment, especially if you're a fan of platformer games, and to be fair, in a time where the game industry is clogged with generic FPS games, Knack is really a breath of fresh air.
