Hmmm. I like these headphones/mp3 player. I like the functions, such as the shuffle, zappin and the easy way you can transfer music. I like the lack of wires and I also think the ear bud thingies work pretty well and are comfy enough. The only problem is the size of the item. I am a small female, (5,1 with a head to match!) and I thought these were a tad too loose. The heart shaped wire that goes round the head is actually too big and kind of forces the ear bits into the wrong position. I think sony should bring out a smaller sized wire version (i.e. the bit in the middle) and they would be perfect. In saying that, they are pretty good and I have run a half marathon in them without them falling off. I think they would be fab if your head was a few cms bigger than mine!

Much better than the earlier model 9 July 2010

I reviewed the earlier model of this back in October, and like everyone else completely slated the Sony NWZW202B because the tiniest drop of moisture paralysed it. The bods at Sony obviously got wind of our collective moan and have gone the other way, now making this new model "washable". Handy for the clean freaks out there but even more comforting for the sportsmen among us who sweat like pigs!
This is really the only sport mp3 out there, without the annoying wires and with a decent quality of sound. My only gripes are that the earbuds hurt a little bit, but perhaps I have very sensitive, strange-shaped ears; and why oh why is the volume never loud enough on mp3s?
Anyway well done Sony, it works. Your customer service stinks but you've done well this time.

Mold the wire, trust me! 12 Jan 2011

Okay, well I purchased these willing to take the punt as I was sick of getting tangled in wires or whipping out my iPod across the gym floor. Well, to be honest initially I was disappointed by the bugger as I just couldn't get them to sit comfortably whilst moving around. But! It then struck me that the wiring at the back is in fact moldable. This was a revelation of epic proportions. It took the player from being a nuisance to a pleasure to wear. I was able to twist and shape the wire at the back to give a more snug fit. An easier approach from a design point of view in my opinion would have been if the wire could simply be pulled through by the ear pieces to allow the wire to sit more snuggly on the head. The sound is surprisingly good I was expecting much worse, and it only improved as the headphones worn in. In all, I think if you have a reasonable amount of patience to tweak and play with the wire and test different bud sizes in each ear, you will come away satisfied.

The concept is brilliant but hopefully in the next iteration they make the player quite a bit lighter, allow for a more snug fit around the neck and head, also a greater variety of buds is required for a product like this to find the best possible fit.
