4.0 out of 5 stars The walkman bean, 13 Jan 2006
    By A Customer
This review is from: Sony NW-E207P 1GB MP3 Walkman Player - Pink (Electronics)
after getting a bean for christmas i realised how small and cute it was. i didn't even need to read the instructions in order to figure out how it worked. its so easy to use with its clear action buttons and the clever idea of installing the usb connector into the bean itself is ingenious and saves you from worrying about any small wires, etc. the earphones are stylish and fit snuggly into my ears without causing discomfort (i found that with the ipod, the earphones just kept on falling out of my ears). you are able to change the bass to suit you. the sleek design is particularly attractive with its shiny, almost glittery, outer covering. the battery life is great, ive only had to charge it once even though ive listened to it nearly every day for about and 2.5 hours. the only downside is the capacity, but still, it can manage to fit about 250 songs on it. so, if you want an alternative to the common ipod that is compact, stylish and so far doesn't have any problems, i suggest this is the one for you. i am very pleased with my buy. :)

    5.0 out of 5 stars 'Bean' MP3 player, 19 April 2006
This review is from: Sony NW-E207P 1GB MP3 Walkman Player - Pink (Electronics)
Despite mixed reviews, decided to buy this based on looks alone, but actually absolutely delighted with it.

Had no trouble at all with the software, installed beautifully, did not have to read any of the instructions, and a short time later have a player fully loaded with tracks from the internet and from imported CD's

Its also very pink, tactile and beautiful!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars All round poor experience, 16 Feb 2006
This review is from: Sony NW-E207P 1GB MP3 Walkman Player - Pink (Electronics)
This player is pretty much tied to Sony's proprietry software. Whilst it does play MP3 files they have to be encoded onto the player using the provided software - no drag and drop. There is no support for Macs (iTunes - duh Sony) or any other O/S apart from Windows. The one I had also mangeled several tunes during the transfer process. The provided SonicStage software is buggy (kept crashing) and I thought it was rather overdesigned. There were some other little things - e.g. the player has a harness for a lanyard to hang it round your neck but no lanyard is provided in the packaging - sheesh it's £100, a little bit of string will hardly eat into the profit margin. The player looks attractive in pics but in the flesh is plastic and cheap looking. All in all I thought this was poorly designed and packaged. I have read that Sony have now stopped making them after only 8 months on the market because it wasn't selling. In the end I took mine back and got a refund.
