great little mp3 player!,

This review is from: Sony NW-E107 1GB MP3 Walkman - Blue (Electronics)
I was looking for a new mp3 player with bigger memory. I was considering all my options but decided to stick with a non hard drive mp3 and go for this. I soooooo glad I've got this! It's small + light and really easy to use. The supplied software is really good. It organises all your music files and it's easy to upload music on to the mp3 player. Also the battery life is mad! I generally use this about 2 and half hours a day, 5 days a week and one good AAA battery last me about 3/4 weeks. The only problem, as with most personnel music players, is the headphones. They are OK but get some better headphones so that you can appreciate the quality of sound. It's a great little thing!!!

Great value MP3 player,

This is a wonderful little MP3 player, and quite possibly the best looking! I guess the same benefits of long battery usage, convenience, and storing lots of albums could be said for most MP3 players. But when choosing from a wide range of players, this one certainly does the job well. Bear in mind that I have no experience of other MP3 players, which might blow this away in other features or sound quality. This is the reason for losing a star because I'm not convinced this is perfection, although it is very good all the same!It looks great and seems to be tough enough, although the menu buttons on the back are a little fiddly to use because they are so small. Not too much of a problem because you don't need to use them much, and at least you can't press them accidentally. The controls on the front are superbly designed for easily stepping through tracks and albums. This is a great design that allows the player to stay very small and light, yet still easy to use. To switch between track and album navigation, you move a slider on the edge of the player. This is easy enough but could be a little awkward if you have large hands, or have less than nimble fingers. You can always leave it in "track" mode and step through track by track as the player is very quick at doing this. The software is superb. It's very easy to manage your albums while the MP3 player is connected. You can group songs into albums, rename, re-order, remove songs. It even links to a special download site where you can purchase music to load straight onto the player. The headphones are adequate, but you can always connect better ones. Best to try them out and see what you think first. It's well worth the little extra cost for the 1GB version. Twice as many songs as the one that's slightly cheaper, and remember you can't add more memory later like you can with digital cameras. All in all, highly recommended!

What a beautiful little gadget!,

This review is from: Sony NW-E107 1GB MP3 Walkman - Blue (Electronics)
I had deliberated for a long time about which player to go for and very nearly bought the Creative Muvo 1gb model, but was tempted away at the last minute by this Sony model, drawn by its claims of incredible battery life and large song capacity. (Who wants to recharge every couple of days?) It only arrived yesterday, but so far I definitely haven't regretted my choice. It's a beautiful little thing, very visually pleasing, and well designed - the controls are all pretty obvious, for those who are allergic to reading instruction manuals! I was expecting something small but am still getting over just how dinky it is! I don't find this a problem, though if you have issues with small gadgets this could be a problem. After 2 days of fiddling around and playing music the battery indicator is still at full. I've uploaded around 40 albums worth of music onto it from CD. The Sonic Stage software is very simple to use and I had installed it on my computer and got my first album onto the player within about half an hour. So it is ideal for if you want a neat way of carrying a large chunk of your CD collection around. I can't comment on how easy it is to put mp3 files onto it though. Sound quality is excellent, as far as this non-anorak is concerned. Headphones are fine if you are ok with in-ear ones. There are three sound settings, enabling you to vary the bass etc a little. I'm not much of a gadget freak and normally am more concerned with getting a basic job done reliably, but as well as being impressed with how this works, I really love the design of the whole thing. And I have always found Sony products to be reliable, so I have high hopes for this.
