This battery was bought a couple of days before going on holiday, so that i would not have to take the Sony HVR V1 camera's charger and it was as an addition to the battery provided with the camera. When it was fully charged the camera showed a use time of six and a half hours. The battery lasted all of the 11 day holiday and still had plenty of time left in it before requiring a recharge, so much time that i had no need to take the original as a spare. i took over two hours worth of video using this battery. Ok it is more expensive than a none Sony make, but you get what you pay for. With the video camera i have, i believe it is money well spent.

I purchased four of these batteries to supplement my existing kit and power my Sony Z1 and Z7 cameras. Unfortunately, these are not genuine Sony batteries as advertised. I already own ten genuine Sony batteries so can make the following comparison: When fully charged they show a battery life of around 700 minutes, which is entirely unrealistic and incorrect - genuine Sony batteries do not, they show a near enough correct battery time of approximately 300 minutes.
Genuine Sony batteries also keep showing the correct battery time remaining as you are running the battery down whereas these suddenly drop from 700 minutes to around 430 minutes and shortly after just die abruptly. Total battery time of these is around 2 hours. I also own some Energizer and other brand 'Sony compatible' batteries which retail at around £30 each - they last longer than these.
Secondly, they also have slightly different writing and logos on the back. Very disappointed and feel truly deceived as these are very nearly the price of genuine Sonys.

The Sony range of semi-pro HDV camcorders are excellent with one minor niggle - the supplied batteries don't give you much more than a couple of hours (As tested on a Sony HDR-FX7 and an HDR-FX1). The solution is to purchase the NPF970 6600mAh long life battery. Using Sony NPF970 batteries I was able to run FX7 for 480 minutes record time and 660 playback. The additional weight of this higher capacity battery doesn't destabilize the camera much if at all, and it is light enough to still allow you to go hand held without having your arms go dead halfway through that crucial shot.
If you are serious about your camcorder usage and your digital video get one of these for your Sony HDR-FX1/FX7/Z1. Better yet, get two and have enough juice for a whole weekend's shooting.

Good battery and fast delivery
A great trustworthy battery longer life, cannot go wrong. We used this for the sony camera light and all worked great
