This is a nice second battery for your sony digital camera. In contrast with the battery that is sold with the camera, this one indicates the number of minutes left until it is completely discharged.

Purchased this battery as a spare for my Sony cyber shot W220 and am very pleased its an excellant battery with the addition of indicating amount of charge left in minutes on the camera display, Once you've got one you will not want to go back to the basic standard battery.

Wasnt too sure if the NP-FG1 battery would work with my Sony Cybershot camera as my original is a NP-BG1. I soley went on other reviewers advice that it would work. Took it on Safari recently as a backup battery for my camera and it worked just fine. I took mostly videos on the Cyber and photos on our Nikon D90. The NP-FG1 mostly lasted for a full day and that was taking loads of videos from 1 minute up to 5 minutes at a time. Put the batteries on charge as soon as we got back to our Retreat(s). Good product at a reasonable price from Amazon and free delivery too!

Despite being a new/top of the range model, Sony still ship the DSC-HX9V with the standard NP-BG1 battery so I purchased the FG1 as a spare to give me the on-screen info. Yes, it's pricy compared to a 3rd-party brand but if I can I'd rather put a genuine part into my new camera. Plus, I used a Sony NP-FG1 on my HX5V and it always gave me good/relaible performance.

I recently purchased a Sony Cyber-shot camera which came with a Sony NP-FG1 rechargeable battery & charger. I bought this second battery as a back up to have fully charged & ready to use as soon as the "low battery" sign appears on the camera. It comes in a neat little click shut case. For the amount of use the camera gets the battery life seems to be nice & long. No complaints.

The battery was purchased for a Sony HX9V compact camera and works perfectly. No problems and it also displays the battery life time remaining which was a nice bonus. It's a sligthly newer, info lithium version of the NP-BG1 that came supplied with the HX9)

Decided I needed an extra battery for my DSC-HV5X so glad I purchased the advanced battery rather than a 'copy' or the original. This works a treat and the extra features it enables such as pictures / power up time remaining on the view screen of the camera are invaluable.

A real gem.

Not much to review! Put the battery in, bingo, the camera no longer shows just bars for the charge remaining, but a time remaining.

Build quality excellent, slot in and go. Glad to have it as now we have two batteries for our camera, thus preventing those annoying dead battery moments just when you spot a great photo opportunity.

Oh, comes with a natty little plastic case to store it in.

Only bug-bear is that it came in a jiffy bag, containing just the battery rather than the battery in official Sony packaging, which makes me wonder about the legitimacy. It did come with what appeared to be proper paperwork.Fake or not though, the battery seems to work spot-on.
