This is a brilliant little kart game for the PSP that amazes in its ability to condense down the PS3 big brother into a portable format. This is just one of the similarities it holds with LBP!
The Good Stuff
The racing handles well. I played this extensively before getting the PS3 version, and the career mode is spot on - the courses are identical and the cut scenes are replicated well - the only difference being that your Mod isn't shown. It is slightly harder to control your drift than on the home console version, however.
The options to customise your Mod and Kart are all present and correct, and surprisingly easy to use. You can create your own courses and add all the funiture and trappings of the main game.
Online is present and correct (unlike LBP) as well as wi-fi connection. If you have 2 PSPs then it is easy to go head to head with a friend.
The controls work well for a PSP game, there is no real control issue due to the console.
The Other Stuff
There is a tight limit on the course size, so you can't actually replicate the courses in the main game when designing your own versions.
At the moment, finding an online race can take time.
Overall a great addition to the PSP library and one that shows there is life in the PSP yet!
