4.0 out of 5 stars Usual Sony Quality, 12 Mar 2004
By Small Scale "small_scale" (London UK) - See all my reviews
(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)
A nice price for 128 Mb of storage. I bought a couple of these from Amazon given that I only ever shoot at 5Mp, so at least I can record around 100 photos (enough for the average holiday shots of the kids, etc).

I choose 2 x 128Mb sticks in preference to the single 256 Mb stick, mainly because the 256 Mb stick is more expensive than 2 x 128's (!!), and also because the single stick is actually only 220 Mb of effective storage (!!). Bizarre, but true.

As with Sony, the 128 stick has all the usual quality you expect. The only niggle with all Sony cameras (including the DCS-V1 I have) is the write + read speed onto the stick, which at times, has all the speed of a thousand geriatric turtles. Still, it's a Sony, and that's really all you need to know.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sony Memory Stick, 22 Feb 2003
By Nik Fletcher (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Whilst Sony's propriatary storage medium is not known to be as cheap as other formats, with its useful size, and extra large capacity MS certainly shows that it is worth the money. This 128MB card will store over 100 of the highest quality photos on many of Sony's Digital Camera Range, and stores 1000 low resolution images on my P50 Camera. The erasure prevention switch is indispensable for people like me who will delete the wrong images by mistake. If you need a Memory Stick, buy this one. It is now well under the price you would pay for two 64MB sticks. Well worth it for any digital photographer, be it amateur or professional.

5.0 out of 5 stars 128 mb is worth the money, 13 Feb 2003
The growing number of Sony electrical products taking the (memory stick) is ever growing, the 128mb stick is used for my DSCP31 Sony Cybershot camera and does the job very well, the 128mb memory stick will make no difference to the weight of the item but changes it from a 8 picture (high res with 8mb inc with camera) to a 100+ high res camera (5 x 24 exposure films) 1000`s if you lower the quality, The speed of uploading (transfering the pictures from the camera to the pc) is very good and as for value for money, it`s a multi use item that can be used for mp3 players, digital cameras, printers and more and more items, i think it`s worth it, as for cheaper versions my experience has swayed me to stick with manufacturers own accesories.
