Usual Sony Quality 11 Mar 2004
By Small Scale TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
A nice price for 128 Mb of storage. I bought a couple of these from Amazon given that I only ever shoot at 5Mp, so at least I can record around 100 photos (enough for the average holiday shots of the kids, etc).

I choose 2 x 128Mb sticks in preference to the single 256 Mb stick, mainly because the 256 Mb stick is more expensive than 2 x 128's (!!), and also because the single stick is actually only 220 Mb of effective storage (!!). Bizarre, but true.

As with Sony, the 128 stick has all the usual quality you expect. The only niggle with all Sony cameras (including the DCS-V1 I have) is the write + read speed onto the stick, which at times, has all the speed of a thousand geriatric turtles. Still, it's a Sony, and that's really all you need to know.

Sony Memory Stick 22 Feb 2003
By A Customer
Whilst Sony's propriatary storage medium is not known to be as cheap as other formats, with its useful size, and extra large capacity MS certainly shows that it is worth the money. This 128MB card will store over 100 of the highest quality photos on many of Sony's Digital Camera Range, and stores 1000 low resolution images on my P50 Camera. The erasure prevention switch is indispensable for people like me who will delete the wrong images by mistake. If you need a Memory Stick, buy this one. It is now well under the price you would pay for two 64MB sticks. Well worth it for any digital photographer, be it amateur or professional.

128 Mb is enough for one week of intense travelling on your holidays or a slower-paced two weeks. Should certainly be backed up with another 128Mb chip (or a 64Mb), but I do think more than 80 photographs at 2048x1536 on a single chip is worth it. Besides, on half resolution (good enough for most people), it can store a tremendous amount of photos.
