My Sony's arrived at midday and I must say Wow, I haven't taken them off since.
I'm listening to them as I write this review in fact ^^.

They are amazingly comfortable especially around the ears, the pads really are that soft and the brushed aluminium and the connections to the speakers form the wires make them look beautiful, and with these your going to get A Lot of looks as they physically are Huge.
Saying that they are still relatively easy to wear, not to heavy and they don't clamp your head like some previous headphones I have purchased.

The only problem I have with them is, in the space that is covered by the headband on the outside of the actual speakers, there is a vent. If you are playing the music too loud they just play the sound out to everybody, but not like the tinny annoying sound you get from ear buds, the sound from the outside is surprisingly decent too ^^ but that isn't what you will be wanting to buy these for.

The actual sound quality is superb and even with the title of "extra bass" the high reaches only suffer slightly.
With this product you will be getting a lot for what you pay.

Tim

They look the nuts"! they are the best looking headphone ever.
They fit very well and are very, very comfortable. So comfortable that i was able to fall asleep listening to them. They didn't press too hard nor too loose.
You HAVE TO set the graphic equalizers to off or flat, as the sound quality is excellent and only the pure sound will do. With pure bass and clear sounding mid and treble they sound awesome.
On my iTouch, when put on to MAX volume, they do sound like mini desktop speakers, and with the 50mm drivers, quite good one at that. Which brings me to the only one bug, no problem with these headphones. Even with the iTouch at half volume and headphones securely fitted to my head, the guy next to me can and will hear every beat, and pick out every word. Weird for a close back to LEAK SO MUCH SOUND. But i think either the 50mm driver is just to big for the construction, or the soft leather pads aren't tough enough to keep the sound in.
So not the best for walking and traveling, so strange why it come with a short cable. But for home use or PC gaming it the best sound i've heard ever.
Buy them if you want the best for less then a ton, but be warned the sound leaks like an open tap.

I got these not long after my previous skullcandy skullcrushers broke.

These things are amazing. the sound qaulity outsrips anything i have previously owned (my friend with 180 quid headphones wants these instead). The Bass is insane (and its not just that annoying vibrating sound that you get off the skullcrushers)

They are amazingly comfortable, and fit like a dream on anyone with any size head. These things are also well made. I tend to break things very easily, but these have obtained no damage whatsoever, (that may be because I love them so much however).

The only issue I have are that at loud volumes people around you can hear what you are listening to quite easily, but to be honest you don't need to go above about a third of the sound level on these things.

Also, these things are huge. That is not a problem for me, but anyone who wants to travel around a lot with them may find it annoying.

The headphones come with a handy faux leather bag, and the wires on these things are ingenious. Why hasn't anyone else thought about having flatter wires rather than just normal ones? They have never tangled in all my time of having them (bout 3 months now).

In other words, if you are o.k on splashing out 70 quid on a pair of headphones, GET THESE!

I bought these headphones as i wanted something good in bass, but yet be good in mids and highs.
These set of headphones from Sony, are a great set to have.
Not only are they great sounding, but they are VERY comfortable, with that soft soft cushion.
They are also very large with the 50mm driver uni, making the sound come out of them great, but not only that they will fit around any type of ears.
I really and thoroughly enjoy them.
I have them for over 6months, and never regret buying them.

The bass is nice and clear and not overwhelming. Really enjoy gaming at night with these on!

They are however quite heavy on your neck - head, but sony did try to provide enough cushioning. I guess you would expect something to be slightly heavy with such a big unit.

For details of what i am talking about check the pictures that i posted on amazon + check my video review on yt. Just search this model, and you will find it.

Thanks,
Dubbed

I've had these headphones just over a year now and still love them!
I'm not exactly an audiophile but I am rather particular about the headphones and earphones I attach to my ears. I have varied tastes in music but I usually stick to classical, rock, r&b, pop and dance depending on my mood and environment. I also watch a lot of TV and movies with headphones.
I generally stick to Sennheiser and Shure because their `phones are consistently high quality in build and audio quality. Many of the mid to low-end Sony `phones I've had were too bass heavy and detail light making them great for gym but not much else. Having said that, I thought I'd give Sony another chance based on a friend's recommendation and these are my thoughts:

The first thing you notice about the XB700s is the size. These cans are massive! The band is a thick metal and the earpiece has thick soft padding. The padding is in fact VERY soft and comfortable. Ideal for me as I wear glasses and open headphones usually press on them and become uncomfortable after a while. The softness also does a good job dispersing the weight of the headphones as they are a little on the heavy side.

When I first listened to them I was less than impressed. They sounded muffled and bland. These headphones need to be `burned in' first so I connected them to my mp3 player overnight playing a mixture of music genres on medium volume. I tried them again the next day and WOW! They sound amazing. The bass is strong, but not overpowering and the detail in the audio is also very much there. I can pick out individual instruments in most of the tracks I play and they work well with all my main genres. I noticed that they sound a lot better when used without any equalisers and minimum audio enhancements.
