Suprised at mixed reviews - are we all perfectionists?,

This review is from: Sony MDR-V150 Headphones with Reversible Housing for DJ Monitoring (Electronics)
I guess with headphones, its always the same story - you're gonna get mixed reviews from people who take them for what they are, and then the people that forget the price and slate them. I tend not to do this.
I've had these for a long time and have had no problems what so-ever. I've recently set-up my own little DJ get-away in the garage (perfect for after Uni!) and these headphones have probably been the best value part of the set-up. They were originally 15 quid (now they're less unfortunately) and even then, the value was excellent! So now, being cheaper, you'd be silly not to buy them. The comfort is good - nothing special, but again you have to look at the price - these are no Mercedes in the headphone world. The ear-cups have foam-filled lining - perhaps better for the smaller ears, but when you're a DJ, they'll only be on your head for brief times. This leads me onto another point - reviewers who bought this, and used it for everything but DJ'ing! As stated in the title, and on the packaging, these aren't meant for listening to Coronation Street on, or hearing Bruce Willis and America save the world again. They were just designed for 'monitoring' and preparing music! The sound quality itself, for the price, is exceptional. I've tried other headphones around this price range and none have been as good as this. Importantly for DJ'ing, the separation of the Midi's is great, and even individual sounds I've never heard before on tracks were present! In terms of strength quality, they are only average. This was perhaps the only surprising part - when you bend the top band via the ear-cups, they can creak, leaving you feeling rather anxious. But you soon learn to just treat them as what they are - a cheap accessory. All in all, these are perfect for the home DJ set-up. It's a shame some reviewers feel the need to take it too seriously and slate them straight away, but for the price, it would be pointless spending huge more amounts for what? Slightly better quality? I might be DJ'ing a set in a Bar soon - lets see how they cope on the job! Get them while you can at this price!

They Do Exactly As Described,

I bought these for my young son (11 years old) as he was going through cheap headphones for his iPod and PSP at the rate of a pair a month and I have not been disappointed with the quality of them yet but its exactly what I would expect of a Sony branded product. The sound quality is superb and the best bit about them is I cannot hear them when my son is listening to his iPod so that wins every time.
The headband adjusts so that it fits all head sizes and the ear pads are very comfortable. I would highly recommend these headphones to anyone looking for a good set of headphones at a reasonable price.

Good quality, great price,
This review is from: Sony MDR-V150 Headphones with Reversible Housing for DJ Monitoring (Electronics)
When I bought these headphones, I thought they weren't going to be very good. But I was actually suprised how good they were for there price. Sure, if your a professional sound engineer then your not going to be buying these headphones, but as basic computer headphones they are perfect. The sound quality is good and luckily the lead is long enough so I can actually use the headphones on my computer (as I so often can't with other headphones).
