I Bought these about 6 months ago and they're still as goos as the day i got them. I listen to mainly rock music but i do also listen to some lighter stuff. The acoustics on these are amazing and you can hear every not as if you were sitting in front of the band ureself. I've also noticed that the quality of sound doesn't fail you at louder volume levels.
The heaphones look stylish and fit perfectly around the ears.
These really are a must have for anyone who enjoys listening to music.

I bought these to give my ears a rest. I currently own a set of in-ear Sennheiser MX 360, and a set of over-ear Sennheiser PX200-II. I am quite happy with both headphones, especially the latter, but I find them uncomfortable after a long listening session, and I'm fearing for my poor, battered eardrums.

These Sony headphones are reasonably priced, and the concept is probably very good, just not for me. The sound quality is not bad for the price (though the bass is worse than that of in-ear or over-ear sets, as expected, and they leak a bit more sound, also expected). Unfortunately, my head appears to be freakishly small, and these headphones can't seem to stay in place, they slip right off. I have followed the instructions to the letter, and tried everything I could think of to keep them in place (e.g. wear them under and over my hair), but even with a head band they just don't sit properly on my ears, which is incredibly frustrating.

I bought these as a trial before going for a more expensive, more sophisticated model, but I fear that, with my small head, behind the neck headphones may just not be for me, unfortunately. My eardrums will just have to cope.

If your head is average, I guess these may work for you.

I got these earphones a couple of weeks ago and I've barely had them off my ears since. They have very good sound quality and are compact enough to carry about with me. The only problem was that I took a while figuring out how to fit them on my ears. It took a day or two but I got used to it. They are comfortable and can be worn for hours without starting to hurt and they make any music sound great. Definatly worth the price.

I deeply regret having binned the cheap and nasty earphones that originally came with my mp3 player before trying these Sony offerings first. Why?, because they flip off about 30 seconds after putting them on. That is without moving my head; any movement at all (especially looking upwards) and they are off instantly. Neither is it a question of fitting them incorrectly: they are labelled 'L' and 'R' and you would have to be a contortionist to find a way of fitting them in any manner other than as is intended.
It could be my head size. I have the smallest head of anyone I know. When I buy a motorcycle helmet, I am often limited to having to settle for any model that comes in the smallest adult size available.
I am not going to launch an all out attack against these phones because I'm sure Sony did plently of ergonomics research into this type of fitting before committing to them and it would be silly to assume otherwise. Rather, I think a successful fitting is entirely down to the relationship of head and ear shapes, proportions, etc.
The sound they reproduce is fine, although evidently strained at low bass frequencies. However, that problem may lie with the player as opposed to the phones. In terms of sound leakage, you might as well walk into the room with a radio on - be prepared for annoyed looks.
My advice? If you get the opportunity, try a pair before committing first (the comfort and lightness is worth striving for) - otherwise, buyer beware.

I have previously owned a pair of these comfortable, lightweight, great-sounding headphones, and only had to replace after the neck band loosened due to long-term daily useage (fair enough as they were heavily utilised). The sound quality and range is impressive at the price. The solid build includes plenty of not-too-flimsy cable with yank-proof connections at both ends. They sit firmly but lightly on the ears, doubling as minor-league ear warmers in winter. I've not only replaced my worn out pair, I've bought two lots as I'll probably want to stick with this model for longer than it is actually available on the shelves.

I bought these headphones as I wanted to try something different, that might be a little more durable than previous headphones I have had, and I have not regretted the decision yet ! These headphones are very small to carry around, which is great for someone like me who usually takes headphones and ipod everywhere! They do take a while to get used to putting them on (as other reviewers have commented on), due to the fact that the neckband is not rigid but flexible. However, once this has been figured out, they sit quite tightly on my ears which does mean that the sound quality is really good and I'm having to use less volume on my ipod to achieve the same effect (thereby also meaning less sound leakage problems). The flexible neckband means that when I am leaning back and resting my head on something there are no problems with neckbands prodding into me. They are, as billed, very discreet, and the connector on these is also quite small, meaning that it will probably get damaged far less easily than some other headphones I have had.

One other thing to be aware of with these, is that the cable on these is quite short (much shorter than I have been used to with previous headphones). Whilst this is not usually a problem, it could prove an issue in some situations for example if wanting to watch TV/laptop DVD in bed etc. as the cable will not stretch very far.

But all in all I would definitely recommend these, especially for anyone who wants portable headphones with good sound quality still for a reasonable price.
