I have bought this case for my Sony HDR-XR520VE camcorder which is quite large and bulky especially with the optional NP-FH100 battery. The case is just tailor-made for it. Oddly enough it will be just fine for the smaller camcorders too as it is adjustable.
The case is well done and of very good quality and will provide perfect protection for your camcorder. There's an extra pocket for your spare battery which is large enough even for the chunkiest Sony NP-FH100 battery.
Having said the above you might want to ask yourself what it is that you expect the case to be. In my humble opinion it will be a good buy if you want your camcorder protected and always at hand at NORMAL weather conditions. I wouldn't recommend it for rough weather as there's a kind of hole on it where the camcorder's strap goes. Useful as it is, it WILL NOT protect your camcorder in heavy rain, snow or sand. Furthermore, the case's instructions state that it will get deformed when wet. Other reviewers have already mentioned that there is no cable/charger compartment but, again, it is not a heavy weight case.
In a nutshell:
PROS: good design, good quality, well fitting,
CONS: none, except maybe when you a big guy like me you might find the shoulder strap just a bit too short

I really like this case, very compact and allows easy access to the Camcorder (SR12e) for inspired shots. Would recommend getting the accessory pack which includes a spare battery and accessory case to clip on.
Nowhere for cables though, but I guess it wouldnt be so compact if it did have!!!

Yes, like a revolver holster, but very very convenient, robust and unique design. Everyone that sees us carrying it wonders what it is! I feel my camera has a secure....home!!
