Another great product from Sony. The usual excellent Wega tube has been combined with some useful features such as the 3 x Scart (2 x RGB), and good "virtual Dolby" sound from the side mounted speakers. The picture quality from my Freeview set top box is outstanding on this TV.

You will need some help lifting the TV though, as it weighs in at some 70kgs. You'll want to use either the accompanying stand or have a substantial piece of furniture to put the TV on.

Overall, a great buy if you get it for around £700 rather than the £900+ at some of the well known high street chains.

Do NOT buy this machine if you want reliability. We've owned one for 3 years: the last 6 months we have had narrowing of the picture with distortion; turning itself off and on; completely losing the picture but maintaining sound; and now the flashing lights on the standby indicator which, according to the instruction manual, now means a trip to the repairer. We're quite prepared to take a loss on this machine and dump it - if you review the Sony sites in America you will see that there is a consistent soldering problem with this machine which apparently causes the problems we've experienced, and it is not cheap to fix. Not happy at all and definitely no further Sony TVs in this house.

The weight goes with the dimensions, which are larger that the average 32 inch widescreen - it seems to have more bulk around the top and bottom of the screen than most TVs.

Overall, a great buy if you get it for around £700 rather than the £900+ at some of the well known high street chains.
