Enjoy Full HD 1080p
Full HD 1080p is the ultimate HD format, providing more than 2 million pixels for a smooth high resolution image. The number 1080 relates the number of horizontal lines of pixels on the screen. The more lines that a screen contains, the better the picture quality. To compare, HD-Ready sets have 768 while standard definition (SD) sets have just 576 lines. The letter p refers to its progressive or non-interlaced picture-scanning process where all the lines of the image are refreshed by every vertical scan. 1080p is the maximum resolution defined for HDTV use and this format is used for Blu-ray Disc™ ® and PLAYSTATION®3.
Watch subscription-free, built-in Freeview HD
To add to your viewing choice, the set has a built-in Freeview HD TV tuner so you have instant access to a huge range of free-to-air and digital TV and radio channels, including HD programmes. Channels are free so you won't have any subscription fees or contracts to sign. Because it's all built-in you won't need a set-top box or satellite dish either. Simply plug in your external TV aerial and access all your channels using just one remote control.

Maximum performance, minimal environmental impact
This BRAVIA model features a range of energy saving features including an Energy Saving Switch which cuts energy consumption to zero when the TV set is not in use. It's a smarter, more convenient alternative to manually unplugging the TV. Its Ambient Sensor automatically adjusts the backlight for the best picture setting depending on the colour temperature of the ambient light in the room. A Presence Sensor detects when you leave the room and turns off the picture to save energy, leaving you with just the sound. The picture returns when you do, or the TV switches to standby.
Connect to your favourite technologies
With its USB Media Player, you can connect a wide range of USB devices straight to your BRAVIA TV. From mp3 players to cameras, laptops to camcorders - even content from your USB memory stick, just plug in to enjoy your favourite multimedia files on screen. You can stream movies, music and photos to your BRAVIA from compatible devices, such as your laptop, mobile phone or music player, no matter where in the home they're located, thanks to DLNA technology. Enhance your BRAVIA experience by connecting other HD products such as a Blu-ray Disc™ player or PlayStation®3 thanks to four High Definition Multimedia Interface™ (HDMI™) inputs. These connections are specifically designed to carry high quality digital video and audio content. BRAVIA Sync lets you control other Sony devices you've connected using your BRAVIA TV remote control.
Enjoy style and substance
The TV's stunning slim 46" (116.8cm) design fits in gracefully with any space and even looks stunning when the picture is off. For enhanced colour intensity the KDL-46EX703 comes with Edge LED backlighting with GigaContrast for the whitest whites and blackest blacks within the same frame; this innovative backlight technology also delivers thinner screens and energy savings too. Switch it to Picture Frame mode and you can turn your BRAVIA into a work of art by displaying pre-installed images or your own photos and make great use of your wall space even when you're not watching TV. To allow you to enjoy the perfect fusion of image and sound, the speakers are hidden in the TV design and positioned for ideal sound elevation.

This review is from: Sony Bravia KDL46EX703U 46-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p 100Hz LED LCD Internet TV with Freeview HD (Electronics)
It was time to upgrade from a trusty old Trinitron and after some research online opted for the sidelit 46" Sony. Our purchase included the tv, the sony Blu-ray, and the sony theatre sound with the golfball sized speakers, and a nice black glass table. As you'd expect, the whole viewing experience is several hundred percent more enjoyable, and i am a relatively light tv watcher. Ive become a light tv watcher because in my view the current free program schedules offer increasingly little of interest. For this reason i wanted a new tv that would offer other options, and i feel i have succeeded. With the blu ray player we now have the choice of upscaled DVD, Bluray, DivX (on disc or stick) assorted online content (underwhelming), the excellent BBC iPlayer (sometimes in HD), and mp3 music. We are supposed to be able to patch into our home network also but we havent achieved that yet, its early days, there is a small issue with our router WEP key or our pc firewall. The first telly arived with the back panel not properly attached (not Amazon) so we sent it back. The replacement is fine, as you'd expect from Sony. But there is now a question mark in my mind over Sony quality, and i note that it says on the delivery packaging 'Assembled in Slovakia'. I dont know if this is significant. It is a beautiful item of furniture switched off, and a beautiful screen when in use. After 3 weeks I am very pleased with the picture quality, I believe it is slightly better than equivalent lcd. The colours are bright and natural and only slight pixelation is seen when viewing content from our dodgy tiscali box (expected). The sound from the tv is fine, but moves into new territory when the theatre sound is switched on. Sometimes we watch the tv with 'ordinary' tv audio, because we dont necessarily want the big experience. I had been worried that a 46" screen might be too big for our lounge. But we sit about 12-13 feet away, and it is absolutely perfect. The difference is, that with the Trinitron when something moved on the screen, one might just move one's eyes, now i find i'm sometimes actually moving my head in natural preference. The whole experience is more immersive of course. We now have 3 sony remotes and a tiscali one. The sony items can be Bravia Sync'd and to some extent this works agreeably. But you still need 4 remotes on the couch next to you if you are going to add these other devices. Overall ' I'd happily recommend this Sony TV, it sure is a treat in our lounge. Update @ December 2010; unsuccessful thus far in connecting tv to pc via cable to router.

This review is from: Sony Bravia KDL46EX703U 46-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p 100Hz LED LCD Internet TV with Freeview HD (Electronics)
Well I purchased this TV after months of "what one do I go for" reading reviews etc. I was orignaly looking for a sony 40" and undiceded if to go for the EX or the Monolith NX. Then amazon emailed and this 46" was on offer. I was undecided about the size worrying it would be to big etc. However when the TV was delivered and setup I am very happy with my choice. This TV is very very simple to setup it basically sets up itself. I don't use freeview just sky hd and the most important thing is the picture which is quite simply stunning in HD and normal definition. You will have to play with the several options that Sony have included but once you find you preffered levels of brightness colour and contrast then you will not be disapointed. If you are lucky enough to have a Blu-Ray player or PS3 then movies in 1080p are stunning it will fell like you are in the film rather than watching it and Avatar really shows what this TV can do.PS3 games come to life aswell and theres even a game setting on the TV. My advice however would be wall mount it, it is far to big to sit on a tv stand and be atleast 9 to 10 feet away for optimal picture quality, second thing is use this TV with a home cineam system I have a Sony AMP which is Bravia Synched, the sound qaulity on the TV alone is not the best. In all this TV is a Sony and it is made with the quality you would expect from them, it looks stylish has an awsome picture and you will not be disapointed.

I didn't see it at 750 as mentioned before, but I bought it at 790 on the 1st of November. I agree with the previous reviewer that its an excellent TV for this price, but I was sincerely expecting more from Sony. Had lots of problems with Network setup. 3 days after I had opened a help case online with Sony support no one had answered (they say the max is 48 h). I then called in, but the level 1 phone support was totally useless. Only after escalating the issue that a knowledgeable person from Sony called and gave me some hints that allowed me to "sort of" workaround the issue. This TV doesn't seem to comply to UPnP and can't talk to the router to open up the ports it needs. Since documentation in this regard is completely non-existent I had to put the TV's IP in the router's DMZ for now to get it internet working. The few sheets of paper Sony calls user's manual that comes with the TV is a joke. The built in digital manual on the TV is also useless. It is good, however, to watch BBC iPlayer or You Tube at 46" without the need of a computer. It could have been an easy 5 stars for Sony, but it turned out it became a reluctant 4.
