Intense 3D entertainment

Once you’ve discovered the thrill of 3D, there’s no going back. Your entertainment literally comes to life in a new dimension with more realism and excitement than ever before. BRAVIA EX723 televisions give you true-to-life 3D action in full HD quality – the clearest, brightest Full HD 3D pictures possible using advanced Active Shutter technology at the widest possible viewing angles. High precision Active Shutter Full HD 3D TVs give smooth and vivid 3D pictures in any room, at any time of day, without the ‘ghosting’ or ‘double-imaging’ effects that can be seen on some other 3D TV technologies. That means you can enjoy an ever-growing selection of Full HD 3D games, movies, sport and TV in comfortable Full HD 3D.

Watch in Full HD

You also get crystal clear, intensely detailed full HD quality in 2D too. Full HD 1080p resolution provides more than 2 million pixels for a smooth, high resolution image. That’s the maximum resolution defined for HDTVs and the format used by Blu-ray Disc players and PLAYSTATION 3 consoles.Fancy playing some Full HD 3D games? No problem. Connect up your PlayStation 3 and it’s game on in a whole new dimension. With 2 HDMI inputs, linking up your HD equipment is quick and easy. You can also connect a wide range of USB devices straight to your home cinema system. Play MP3 music, view photo slideshows and manage the content on your USB memory stick on screen, simply by plugging in a flash drive.

Go Wireless

Simply plug in an optional UWA-BR100 USB Wi-Fi adaptor and connect to your Internet router without wires. Enjoy online entertainment without the clutter of cables.

Super smooth action

Fast moving sports and movies are smooth and clear with Motionflow XR 200. See action sequences at the equivalent of 200 frames per second – that’s four times the frames per second of a conventional 50Hz TV – with next to no judder or blur.

Brighter and sharper with Edge LED

With Edge LED backlighting, the TV picture is illuminated by white LEDs arranged along the top and bottom edge of the display panel. Light is directed through the screen, enhancing contrast and brightness. As well as giving sharper pictures, Edge LED also allows for a slimmer, more lightweight design so you can enjoy all the benefits of a big screen television without having to compromise on precious space in your home.

Clear and natural pictures

With X-Reality picture enhancement, images are crystal clear and colours as natural as real life. Detail is perfectly defined with no degradation or noise, even when watching standard definition pictures.

Environmentally friendly

The BRAVIA EX723 Series protects the environment while saving you energy and money. A Light Sensor automatically sets screen brightness to suit room lighting for optimum picture quality and power consumption. Also on board is a Presence Sensor that automatically turns off the TV picture if you leave the room and then switches to standby if you don’t return within a certain time period. The Energy Saving Switch cuts energy consumption to zero when the TV is not in use or on standby. You can easily restart in seconds with Quick Start & Viewing.

Easy connections

On board are a variety of HDMI and USB ports, so you can really get the best out of your home entertainment. Four HDMI inputs designed to carry high quality digital video and audio with CEC and Audio Return Channel make it simple to connect to High Definition products. Play games on your console, watch latest Blu-ray movies in high definition or enjoy your latest HD home videos. You can also listen to your favourite music or view photos via the USB media player. Simply plug in a USB device to access your favourite multimedia on screen. Stream movies, music and photos to your BRAVIA from compatible devices in the home such as a laptop, mobile phone or music player using DLNA technology.

So versatile

BRAVIA EX723 integrates perfectly with your lifestyle. Record a show you might miss straight to hard disk via USB and link a smartphone to your TV to use as a remote or to find details about the programme you’re watching.

One touch is all you need

BRAVIA Sync lets you control other Sony devices that you’ve connected, such as a Blu-ray Disc player, using just one BRAVIA TV commander. Play Blu-ray movies, watch home movies from your camcorder or photos from your Cyber-shot at the touch of a button on your TV remote.

Links easily to all your home entertainment

BRAVIA televisions are designed to link up in seconds with Sony Blu-ray players, home theatre systems and Personal Video Recorders. Get the most out of your HDTV with Blu-ray and watch your favourite DVDs like you’ve never seen them before in fine detail, vivid colour and pin-sharp contrast. Or get the full surround sound experience with a Blu-ray Home Theatre system like the BDV-E380 or BDV-E880. George Lucas once said that ‘sound is half the experience’, so with that in mind, it makes perfect sense to unleash the power of your favourite films with a 2.1 channel system such as the BDV-EF200.

Bought this TV for it,s streaming, LED Technology and USB HDD Recording ability's. all of which work very well.

After trying Samsung for streaming and support both of which were rubbish I wasn't left with a lot of choice of devices which have an app for streaming from Lovefilm (only Sony and Samsung TV products have Lovefilm apps)

First of all I tried the Sony KDL 32EX523 LED TV but in spite of the manual saying it had USB HDD Recording it didn't actually have it, plus the picture was very dull, so I packed it back up for return within the hour.

Then I studied for quite a time before I decided to buy this particular TV, especially since I found the picture so dull on the first Sony LED TV however I decided to take a chance and at first I thought that I had slipped up as the picture was again very dull, I couldn't be bothered to pack it up that day and decided to watch it for the evening and pack it up the following day, but on the following day I decided to have one more look at it and much to my surprise the picture was as different as is night and day, it was much brighter than it had been the day before so I had a fiddle with the picture setting's and have since tweeked them a bit more and now the picture is absolutely spot on.

As for it's streaming ability's it is very surefooted and has never dropped a connection even when the available bandwidth drops from Lovefilm (which drop's quite low during busy periods, sometimes dropping from 5.5-6.0 mbps to as low as 1.5 mbps) it just carry's on streaming. as does my Sony Blu Ray player and the Sony TV and Blu Ray player that I have in the bedroom, they are all very surefooted streaming on the internet from whichever site I maybe using.

I researched TV's for ages as we were still stuck in the world of CRT!

It came down to this one versus Pana Viera. Originally I wasn't sure about the main draw to LED vs LCD but a trip to a local reseller confirmed that Sony's LED technology is truly very good. The Pana units are very close but we already had Sony blu ray players so that swung it. Some LED screens do seem to be a bit too bright but that may be the way they are left running in the shops and maybe not configured as well as they could be.

We use the network functionality a lot (wired Cat6) so can not comment on wireless capabilities and dongles etc. The TV is also 3D capable but we aren't interested in that as yet. Image quality from blu ray and HD is superb and that is what it's all about for us. SD images are also excellent and there's a whole host of ports for connectivity until your heart's content.

Sound is predictably tinny as the chassis is so thin there is no way any decent amp/speaker tech could be crammed in there. Instead we have used a Panasonic sound bar and woofer that sits discretely behind and it is brilliant for under £200. Excellent differentiation between high, mid range and thumping bass (if you turn it up).

Sony S380 blu ray and Humax HDR500 (freesat) recorder completes the setup and, for very sensible money, this is a very good entertainment platform. My work involves integration projects at many high worth homes and I can safely say that this setup gives vastly more expensive installations a good run.

Hope this helps.

Great T.V and the 3D is good, when reading the reviews look at the screen size's commented on, the larger screens are a lot better for 3D content as you need to be with in a certain distance of the screen, measure the distance you sit away from the screen before picking a size, my viewing distance from this set is 6 and half feet and the 3D is very good.it's no good getting a small screen and sitting at this distance as the 3D will look bad.
This is a great product for the price and I would highly recomend it.

Update: I have since watched several 3D films and can say they really good apart from a couple of titles. Avoid My bloody Valentine as the 3D is really bad and Lionsgate are aware of it. Also Preist and Up, and the deadly hallows part 1 are pretty flat 3D.
Best titles so far are that I've watched : Avatar, Alice in wonderland, Resident Evil afterlife ,Final Destination 4 and 5, Ice Age, The three musketeers.
Tips :
Also in the Eco settings turn off the light sensor it makes the picture too dark once it off adjust your picture settings to your preference.
