Great TV, but the EPG is a bit Naff, 1 May 2009
This review is from: Sony Bravia KDL32S5500U 32-inch Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV with Freeview (Electronics)
Had this TV a couple of weeks now. Had Bravia's before and this one is also good picture and sound wise. Only negative is the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG). If you want to look at the info of a programme on another channel the TV changes to that channel if you press the 'i' button - which is very irritating. Have an older 22" Bravia in the bedroom which doesn't do this so why change it and make it worse! Overall, happy with the TV, but loses 1 star owing to the rubbish EPG.

Great TV!- Read on- encountered problems, 13 Nov 2009
This review is from: Sony Bravia KDL32S5500U 32-inch Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV with Freeview (Electronics)
I bought this TV just over a month ago and I am still very happy with it!
One of the main things I was looking for was a TV that had a black surround that wasn't like all the others that are around at the moment. All the others I saw had a shiny plastic surround so when watching, light reflects off of it and you can even see your reflection, which really distracts from the film!!! So when I found the Sony bravia, I was over the moon. It only has a tiny bit of shiny plastic right at the edge.
The picture quality is amazing as is the sound, the only downside is the remote. Quite slow at changing channels and I can't use the Guide function as it goes to the channel when you just want to read the information. So we just buy a TV Guide (which we prefer anyway!), the main thing about a TV is how it performs when your watching it and you certainly cant fault this TV! Would definitely recommend.
Having written this review and fallen in love with the TV, I'm sad to say it went wrong! Although it used to be slow at changing channel and going to the guide, when I pressed channel 1 it would freeze, if i pressed again it would just turn off. It did this when I pressed 1 and Guide and became more and more frequent. I have now changed to a Sony Bravia EX503 which we have now had for a year and so far seems excellent. Cant fault Sonys service.

A Typical Sony TV, 3 Sep 2009
This review is from: Sony Bravia KDL32S5500U 32-inch Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV with Freeview (Electronics)
Firstly, I have noticed that prices of TVs recently have fallen considerably. In particular, the big makes such as LG, Samsung, and of course Sony. So we ordered this Sony mainly because of the price and as usual a fantastic service is provided by Amazon as it arrived within 2 working days, in perfect condition.
The TV itself is stunning to look at, especially when placed on Levv - Glass Stand For Plasma & LCD TV Up To 32" Or 40kg - Black Glass With Chrome Legs, which is what we bought with it, and so I would fully recommend this combination.
The picture quality and sound are also equally as good, both very crisp and clear. They both have pre-sets, like Cinema, Photo etc., but the one that's best by far in my opinion is 'Dynamic Surround' sound with 'Vivid' picture. The remote is also incredibly easy to use, with few buttons. Don't use the eco setting, as the picture quality is downgraded a lot.
There are few negatives, but one could be that the EPG is a little slow and you cant set a timer, which is trouble for people with an analogue recording equipment.
But overall this is a stunning TV, and probably one of the the best value ones on Amazon. I'd thoroughly recommend it, in fact you'd be mad to not even consider it when buying a 32 inch.
