I'm delighted with this TV. Elegant, functional and excellent quality - Having one TV with a built-in Blu-Ray player (also plays DVDs), a built-in Freeview HD receiver and with built-in internet TV access (having purchased the WiFi dongle separately) all within one seamless unit without endless cables and one, yes one, remote control is a joy!

Setting up the internet WiFi dongle took about 60 seconds without any issues or problems - I simply wrote down the ID number from the back of my Broadband WiFi modem and entered it on screen when the TV prompted me; Simple. I have a standard BT internet home broadband hub out in the hallway, and the stability and quality has been superb. The internet TV options have been a revelation and this is surely the future. I can only wait eagerly until Sony adds the promised BBC iPlayer to its list.

This TV makes your life so much simpler!

    Verified Purchase
    Edit - May 2013.

So my original review is below. But, wanted to update it as my view about this TV has significantly changed.

Within 18 months the Blu-Ray player packed up working. It accepts disks etc just doesn't play them. I enquired re what might be wrong and was basically told that hybrid TV's like this never work and it would probably cost about half what I paid for the telly to get it fixed. So I'm back to a separate Blu-Ray player. THE main reason for buying this TV was to de-clutter and get rid of the separate boxes etc! Secondly, the menu system is so S L O W and since the Blu-ray packed up (not sure if it's a connected issue), I find that on regular occasions (almost daily) the telly just refuses to do anything other than switch on. It comes on but you cannot change channel, volume, anything, even when you try using the buttons on the actual telly itself. If you switch it off at the wall then back on again, you regain control, probably as that is like a hard reset. It also seems to now lose it's internet based content on a daily basis forcing you to refresh it in order to get your internet content selection back again.

The only thing still going for this TV is the picture quality which remains superb. So I have dropped this from 4 to 1 star.

    Original review:

Having had 2 duff 32" LG's delivered to me (you can see my review of them here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B003FMSIV8/ref=cm_cr_pr_hist_2?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addTwoStar) , I decided to go for a refund and buy a Sony instead.

This Sony stood out with it's built in Blu-Ray & Freeview HD....a chance to get rid of the old DVD player! It also had all the internet connectivity options I was looking for.

This is a great innovation from Sony putting a blue ray player in a great TV like this. I was looking at getting a new TV. It satisfied my criteria of good quality, freeview, and HD. it is also internet ready (LAN only) and wireless compatible (with the purchase of a SONY specific USB wireless device - costing about £65 right now). So dont be fooled with it stating internet ready. it is only internet ready if you can easily plug in a network cable from your local area network. The only real issue I have is that almost all of the inputs are at the rear of the screen. which makes it just about nearly impossible to plug anything in after it has been wall mounted. Even the aerial input is at the rear and not accessible once mounted. I also thought that as it had a built in blue ray player, Sony should have made the remote bluetooth like the PS3 rather than the standard RF.
Other than that, it is a great TV and I hope to enjoy for years to come.

At last a HI-Def tv with built in dvd/blu-ray and Freeview HD for the bedroom, surely it's the best way to watch tv and movies? while the HD tv is excellent, the sound and picture are brilliant the blu-ray player lets it down badly. When playing an ordinary dvd the drive is quiet and the picture excellent, when you play a blu-ray the drive becomes incredibly noisy and there's a hi-pitch whine as the drive tries to handle the extra speed required to spin/read the disc and unless the tv is very loud it makes watching a blu-ray unbearable, especially if it's in the bedroom and you play it at a low volume so you don't disturb the neighbours. It's not as if it's a small bedroom, I'm a good 10 feet from the screen and it's still noisy. I imagine if you had it in the living room on the wall and you were at the other end of a large room it would be ok, but somewhere where it's quiet it's really a waste of time, and it's not a faulty drive because this is the second one I've had because I sent the last one back thinking the drive was faulty but it turns out that it's how it's made. A real disappointment!

oh and it's not internet ready, it's another £60 for a wireless dongle if you can't cable it up... bit cheeky that from Sony implying you can just hop onto the internet straightaway

If you are on the lookout for a new LCD Internet enabled television this Christmas then consider the Sony Bravia KDL-32EX43B with a built in Blu-ray player. It offers a rich set of features and you can save money by claiming back the VAT if it is bought on or before Christmas Eve 2010.

The body of this television is well designed in that it has a minimalistic front with no controls. On the sides of the unit, Sony have done an excellent job of concealing the Blu-ray player controls and various input and output jacks. I initially thought that any USB devices I plugged in would protrude and would be an unwelcome distraction, however the sides of the front panel hides these. In addition to the USB port, there are two HDMI inputs, AV inputs and a headphone socket. The back of the unit has a wealth of input and output connectors: LAN, PC IN, another HDMI, an optical audio out, audio out, component in, 2 SCARTs, and RF input for connection to the aerial.

If you are used to having more than one remote control, perhaps one for the TV, one for a digibox and one for a DVD player (like I used to have), then you'll appreciate having all of that functionality controlled from one single remote control.

Setup was a simple case of assembling the table top stand (you will need a Phillips screwdriver for this bit), plugging in the aerial, switching on and then responding to a few question on-screen to set up language and tuning for digital channels etc.

In terms of connecting to the Internet, the advertising blurb from Sony suggested that I needed a wireless USB dongle (retailing at approx. UKP60).
