Purchased one of these televisions out-with amazon about a month ago. I can't see any evidence of the image problems detailed in the earlier review. The television displays images very sharply and in high quality, (the type you would expect from a sony television). The freeview also seems to be top-notch - it picks up signals much more successfully than the freeview box in the other room. The menus are very easy to navigate and settings are very easy to change.

The sound produced by the television is also very good. I was quite relieved by this as I had originally been looking to buy a samsung 26" television , but was deterred from doing so by numerous reports of poor sound quality and so chose this sony 26" instead.

The only problem which I have encountered so far with this television concerns the ports at the back. The computer monitor port (technical name?) works, both the television component input and high definition television component input work. In fact, the only ones which have caused problems are the HDMI ports. I recently purchased an xbox 360 elite, which I was planning to use on one of the television's 2 HDMI ports. This has proven extremely unsuccessful, however. I have had all the equipment - cables and xbox - replaced and the television sent for testing. The result of all this seems to point to an incompatibility between the television's HDMI ports and the xbox, as no fault was found with the television and the replaced equipment yielded the same results.

In spite of this disappointment, I am still rating this television with 5 stars as all it's other functions seem to work perfectly.

    Love it! 28 Nov 2007

Suits me just fine. Not stupidly large, so quite unobtrusive, excellent picture and all the connectivity you could possibly wish for. Don't like the postitioning of some of the on-screen info displays, but this is a minor criticism.

Poor image quality 20 Oct 2007
Picture quality is the worst I have ever seen. It looks like a very highly compressed jpeg file covered in artifacts.Style and useability are good, but the picture quality severly lets it down.
