Feels solid built with a good base that you need to fix with three screws (supplied). The base, with rubber-surfaced feet, has a hole through which a cord can be passed to secure the unit to the stand should there be a toppling possibility (small children / pets).
(This I got after returning Toshiba 19DV665DB TV-DVD player Combo to another online store which had the notorious problem of sound cutting out at the start or whilst watching a programme.)
The oval twin speakers of Sony Bravia KDL22EX302U, positioned underneath, give 5W(RMS) x 2 uninterrupted sound, the quality of which more than equates the size of this 22" TV - it is nowhere near `tinny'. The picture quality is very good and can be manually tweaked, though the same setting may not be consistent across various channels watched, but is not an issue - it probably boils down to the signal strengths.
The antenna used with this is One For All with 42dB signal gain. TV auto tunes and stores digital signals in a few minutes. It also tries tuning any analogue signal available - none here.
It works well with Sony BDPS370 Blu-ray Player. Any one of the remotes controls major functions of both the player and the TV through the `bravia link'. But when it comes to dedicated functions, one needs to use the specific remote. I had to get the TV to recognise the Blu-ray player by navigating through the menu - the TV did not recognise it spontaneously. Once recognised, even after disconnecting the HDMI cable, the TV accepted the Blu-ray player upon re-connecting.
The top information bar that stays for a few seconds, gives a lot of information on he channel including availability of subtitles which can be chosen if required, in three different languages (English being one!) by pressing the button on the remote successively. Subtitle disappears after adjusting the volume, but will re-appear after touching the volume button once more.
The programme guide is like a book only - you can only see what programme comes up across the various channels. Had it had the facility to select a programme ahead so that it would switch automatically to view a pre-selected programme whilst watching another, I would have given Sony Bravia KDL22EX302U five stars.
