recently bought sony ICD-UX512 brilliant bit of kit.
full instructions but you dont really need them. The button marked T MARK is used to divide tracks into smaller sections, then you can delete any parts you dont want,SIMPLE to transfer files to a laptop just plug it in and tranfer,no need to install extra software.
BUT there is some with it on a disc if needed.
Brilliant for copying Tapes to CD all you need is a 3.5 jack plug on either end of a cable, plug into your tape deck headphone socket then into your microphone socket on recorder and your away.
The same applies for copying vinyl.then simply divide the tracks up using the T mark button as described above.NO extra software needed.
The stereo microphone works well and will work well over 30feet away from subject.
The ONLY negative is the speaker,it is very quiet.so you will need to use headphones or similar for decent playback volume.BUT this is a small price to pay,as this does so much more than it describes online.
i have looked at olympus and other models, and road tested quite a few, NONE of them come close to SONY and NONE of them can edit on the machine like the sony recorders can.
Infact olympus cant edit at all.
The battery once fully charged lasts well over 6 hours and the on board memory is 22 hours recording time at best quality BUT you can add a micro sd card to extend the time if you want to.
i hope this review help people.
