+ 1 for the Sony. I have the HX10v which is almost identical except it has a touch less zoom (16X). I couldn't believe the fireworks shots I got on the dedicated setting. The image is a little more processed (it looks a bit water coloury when zoomed to excess when viewing) but most point and shooters aren't going to be used for billboard sized enlargements. The low light abilities are awesome, the zoom is spectacular, the HD video is stunning and set it to Auto+, I challenge you to take a bad picture. I researched in great depth between the Sony and the Panny and in every department the Sony came out tops for me.
George Cassie Can any one help me ? I am trying to find someone who can supply a cable that will fit the DSC-HX20V micro USB Connector but with the AV3 input terminals ( yellow, white, red) at the other end as I have a Panasonic DMR-EX78EB DVD Recorder I like to keep my back up photographs on disc and have no problems with my Panasonic Camera
