Brilliant!, 17 Feb 2008
Set-up was easy... sound is superb - for movies, games and music. So, plug in your HDTV into the HTSF2000 via an HMDI cable and then your Blu-ray/PS3 via a HDMI into the HTSF2000 - you then have the ultimate cinema and sound system! Only problem is that the HDTV doesn't have HDMI output sound for normal transmission, but sound from Blu-ray/PS3 is fantastic!
It also looks good and complements other products, in particular Sony, such as HDTV and Blu-ray/PS3. Strongly recommended.

Wow unbelievable, thank you sony, at last., 20 Jan 2008
I'm totally flabbergasted, behold the HTSF 2000 this is truly a great peice of kit. I've been looking at the htsf1100 as a digital surround solution for about 6 months now as i told a friend to buy one in about august 07, that system has fantastic sound, but since then i have discovered there are known picture quality issues when attaching a true hd source. I have a kdlv3000 and wanted a true hd picture from the decoder to tv using theater sync and built in hdmi swither, a relief, the 2000 does support 1080p over the 1100's max 1080i and therefore is far superior. Though using the same speaker setup, which is still truly awesome, sony having resolved the picture resolution issue and in doing so have doubled my opinion of this sony range. Well worth the extra £100 and makes the HTSF 2000 the must have accessory to anybody thinking of upgrading their tv. Its particularly relative if someone, like me, is interested in connecting multiple hd and true hd sources including synced direct digital 5.1 surround such as from a ps3, bluray player and or sky hd etc etc.

Size matters, 25 Jun 2008
Not much I can add to the reviews on quality, I can only agree that it's a superb bit of kit. A word of warning though, before you buy check the size of the components out. I bought this to replace my old Sony surround system and didn't bother checking the size because I assumed it would be a little bigger. How wrong I was, its an absolute beast! The control box under the telly is a whopping 17" wide which gave me problems fitting it on the shelf with all the other kit, the speakers are quite large and the speaker bases are 12" across. I had to wait ages for this to delivered and on checking two days after delivery the price had gone down by £50, one call to Amazon and they refunded the difference without quibbling, Its this sort of fantastic service that makes Amazon stand head and shoulders above the competition for me. £299 for this is a steal, If you have a Bravia and PS3/Blu-ray player then this unit is a must have to complete your set up.
