5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!, 17 Feb 2008

Set-up was easy... sound is superb - for movies, games and music. So, plug in your HDTV into the HTSF2000 via an HMDI cable and then your Blu-ray/PS3 via a HDMI into the HTSF2000 - you then have the ultimate cinema and sound system! Only problem is that the HDTV doesn't have HDMI output sound for normal transmission, but sound from Blu-ray/PS3 is fantastic!

It also looks good and complements other products, in particular Sony, such as HDTV and Blu-ray/PS3. Strongly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Size matters, 25 Jun 2008
This review is from: Sony HTSF2000 Slim Home Cinema System (Electronics)
Not much I can add to the reviews on quality, I can only agree that it's a superb bit of kit. A word of warning though, before you buy check the size of the components out. I bought this to replace my old Sony surround system and didn't bother checking the size because I assumed it would be a little bigger. How wrong I was, its an absolute beast! The control box under the telly is a whopping 17" wide which gave me problems fitting it on the shelf with all the other kit, the speakers are quite large and the speaker bases are 12" across. I had to wait ages for this to delivered and on checking two days after delivery the price had gone down by £50, one call to Amazon and they refunded the difference without quibbling, Its this sort of fantastic service that makes Amazon stand head and shoulders above the competition for me. £299 for this is a steal, If you have a Bravia and PS3/Blu-ray player then this unit is a must have to complete your set up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic system, 1 April 2008

Got this system yesterday, and when i turned it on, was very impressed. Easy to set up (though wiring the speakers through the poles was a bit of a pain), and easy to use. Was kinda worried about the blue bottom on the main unit, as that doesn't match any of my stuff.. but it is not that bright, and tbh, bearly noticable. The sound was fantastic when i watched Independance Day (Blu-ray) through my PS3.. and listening to music through PS3 and Xbox360 was also very clear and crisp.

Having looked at the back - you get 3xHDMI inputs and 1x output, 2x Digital Optical (they share the HDMI channels though, but i put PS3 HDMI through the SAT port and the 360 through Dig Optical Sat port, as they will not be on at the same time which avoids conflicts) and you get a couple of phono in's and a phono out. you also get a Digital Coax port (wire included).

You can set up multiple sound choices for each input source, which appear confusing at first, but easy to figure out and really do work, not just a useless feature.

Cannot recomend this system enough.. only bad point, i had to wait over a month to get it, as there is a severe back-log that Sony are not able to keep up with.
