Catch every moment in high definition
Everything you shoot on the CX115 will look sharp and clear. That's because it uses AVCHD (Audio Video Compression for HD), a new high definition movie recording format. It lets you shoot videos which capture five times the detail of a standard definition camcorder in Full HD 1920 x 1080 at a maximum bit rate of 24MBps for even greater clarity.
Easy viewing and sharing
Want to share what you've shot with friends and family? If you connect your camcorder directly to an HD Ready TV you can view your video in spectacular HD on the big screen. If your TV is a BRAVIA which supports PhotoTV HD, you'll be able to experience even more lifelike HD images, bursting with detail and colours. And with BRAVIA Sync you'll be able to use the TV remote to navigate through all the clips and photos stored on your camcorder. You can also enjoy One Touch Disc Burn and Easy PC back up via USB 2.0 Hi-Speed connection with the supplied Handycam® Station.
Get great results with iAUTO mode
iAUTO mode takes the effort out of making your movies look great - every time. It recognises your surroundings and automatically adjusts settings for the best filming results. iAUTO selects from 90 possible settings then uses clever Sony-exclusive technologies to optimise shots for faces, smiles, low-light levels, different scenes (beach, snow, sports, etc.) or anti-shake adjustment.
25x optical zoom for great close ups
This camcorder features a powerful 25x optical zoom Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens which helps bring far away action closer without losing clarity.
x.v colour for more lifelike results
x.v colour from Sony delivers rich, natural and more realistic colours - meaning the images you'll see when you play your movies back will look more life-like, especially when viewed on an HD TV.
Smiles all round
Ever think faces can sometimes look underexposed in bright, backlit situations like a sunny beach? If you're shooting indoors there's a risk your subject's skin tone can look unnaturally coloured too. This camcorder automatically fine-tunes focus, exposure and skin tone for more natural looking faces. Plus with Smile Shutter™ you can automatically shoot still photos whenever your subject smiles, without interrupting video recording.

Have more fun with your video collection
It's easy to manage your video clips and photos with Picture Motion Browser for your PC. The software is included free with your camcorder. Sort, search and browse through all your clips and photos in an instant. Then burn them to disc, email to friends or upload to social networking sites with a few clicks. You can also transfer video footage direct to an external hard disk drive without using a PC - handy when you want to manage your movies quickly.
Easy-to-use touch screen
The camera comes with an easy-to-navigate 2.7-inch (6.7cm) touch screen which is a breeze to use. It lets you compose your scenes easily and shoot like a professional. Menus and settings are just one tap away and as the screen is big enough to be viewed by more than one person, you can also share what you've shot right there and then.
Shoot without shake
Shooting without a tripod? With the CX115 you needn't worry about wobbly looking results. SteadyShot™ Active Mode image stabilization lets you capture smooth handheld video from wide angle to full telephoto shooting - even when you're walking.
Superb picture quality without the effort
For beautifully detailed, natural looking results this camcorder uses Exmor R™ CMOS Sensor which helps captures detail-packed images even in low light. A D-Range Optimiser adjusts exposure and contrast for evenly exposed backlit shots, whilst a Sony exclusive BIONZ processor also reduces picture noise in low light.
