These 2 games are everything you remember and more. They're pretty much the same versions as the PS2 ones but graphically spruced up nicely.

Plenty has been made that the cut scenes have not been updated but to be honest I still found them impressive.

I played GoW 1 on the PS2 and it was a pleasure to revisit it and it still held up exceptionally well. I never got round to playing 2 until now though this is also a great game.

Personally I'm not a massive fan of these types of brawlers but in these games the combat is straightforward so you can look like a demon even with button mashing though when you get the hang of it the combos are satisfying to pull off.

The puzzle elements are fun too and generally never too frustrating. At the end of the day these are 2 of the best games for the PS2 updated with very polished graphics that still stand up to scrutiny a few years into the next generation. If you enjoy a good yarn, games that feature epic scale, brawlers or games full stop get this in as you won't regret it.

Now when are sony going to do the same for Shadow of the Colossus and Ico. They're even (arguably) better!

I used to love playing these games on the PS2 and was gutted when I could no longer play them after trading that in for my PS3 all those years ago. All I can say as that I'm very glad to see them back and they have not lost their appeal at all....

For those of you out there that may have only become aware of these two first games since the release of GOW3, then I urge you to buy this collection pack and get cracking..

I guarantee you will not be disappointed at all, as for starters the story will make a lot more sense to you and they are both excellant games in their own rite. From the minute it starts the game has you enthralled, and like one of the other reviewers I am not the best at this type of game but I got on fine with the controls and did not suffer too badly with the puzzle parts. Upon finishing the first game I loaded the second and started playing straight away as the story just had me hooked, and despite what a few have said the graphics are perfectly fine unless you are being ridiculously critical and harsh, but they should still not distract you from your enjoyment of these games.

I really did find the whole experience a wonderful nostalgic trip full of enjoyment, and I challenge anyone who loves this type of game not be sucked into it themselves.

When God of War originally came out on PS2 I had no interest for it. People told me of its brilliance but I turned a blind eye to it. Until I played the demo for God of War III. The brutality and action just captivated my mind. All of a sudden I wanted to buy 3 when it came out. BUT I didn't know the full story. I saw the God of War Collection and thought "Perfect!".

It contains both games on one disc with 720p resolution and even trophy's. I must say the graphics were vastly improved to high definition and ran like a PS3 game would. The gameplay is brutal with combos to master, secrets to find and puzzles to solve. Packed with tonnes of extras including Making Of videos, art work, interviews and much more.

I very much enjoyed playing through both games and wish I had bothered to get them on PS2 when they were out. I straight after bought God of War III and I must say it's one of my favourite franchises in the gaming world. 9/10.

There are not many words to describe God of War and God of War II.
There both great games, that's all. This is the best the Playstation has to offer.
This and part III of the series. Enjoy!!
