Product Description

Take movies and photos on the move, with the PSP Camera. Launching across Europe on May 16, the PSP Camera combines existing PSP functionality with the ability to take your own movies and photos. This nifty piece of kit fits neatly into place on top of your PSP and incorporates a microphone for continuous audio recording, plus a vertical, 180 degree mount to position the camera lens either facing you - as you look into the screen - or directly away. Capacity varies based on resolution and the size of Memory Stick Duo being used, but on a 4GB Memory Stick you can easily capture over two hours of video or 40,000 photos. To make full use of the hardware and support your creativity, Go!Cam comes with access to Go!Edit, an editing software package with the ability to enhance your movies and photos with sound and graphical effects. System Software 3.00 is required to use both the PSP Camera and Go!Edit, which can be downloaded for free. Building upon existing PSP functionality, especially connectivity, Go!Edit also allows the option to upload creations onto the internet directly from your PSP, letting you share your masterpieces with the world.

this small camera is very good and easy to use at first i had a bit of trouble getting it started but now it works fine and the filming works well to.To get the most out of the camers i advise you to get a 4gb memory card because you have to download the go!edit softwear and if you have games saves on there that takes up place to but all in all im really peased with it ITS A MUST GET FOR PSP OWNERS !!!!!!!

Ordered on 23 May ready for 25 May launch, and received it on 25 at 9.15. Can't fault Amazon!

This is brilliant. I don't know which of me, my 4 year old or 9 year old thinks it is best. We are all fighting over it on each of our PSPs. Photo picture quality excellent - great for viewing in PSP wide screen format or any other. Video quality very, very good when transferred to PC (I have previously used a 1.3 Mega Airtek Pocket DVII which had good still pictures, but only just acceptable videos - the PSP Cam is light years ahead of that, so don't be put off if you have used 1.3 Mega cameras in the past)

For less than £30.00 it adds yet more uses to what I feel is the best portable system around. Buy it for anyone who has a PSP. You will be at the top of their Christmas card list for many years to come!

I can't wait for the VOIP add on later this year!

Got this on the day of release (Amazon superb as usual) and it's an impressive little gadget, not to be taken too seriously, though. It takes seconds to connect to the PSP and I started taking decent quality photos and movies immediately. Obviously not a digital camera replacement, but I don't think it was ever intended to be.

The Go! Edit software that I presumed would come on a CD, had to be downloaded from Sony and it took a lot of messing about before it would download properly. You don't have to download it if you don't want to and I found it a bit too gimmicky. Kids will probably have some fun with it, though. Overall, a nice little piece of kit.

Ordered it 7 days ago and got it this morning. The package was in perfect conditions (Remember, I live in Spain).
I don't understand some of the negative review of the people. This is NOT a cámara to take wedding pictures. It is a simple 1.3 Mpixel camara which, as a camara, is not very usefull.

But using the cames INVIZIMALS and EYEPET it is just great. It give a new dimension to the PSP.
The quality of the pictures taken are good, there is even an option to make pictures with a "sketch" feeling.
The camara does exact what it means to do, nothing more nothing less.
But if you are looking for taking pictures, than stay away from this. It sounds great to have a PSP and a camara in one. but this isn't the way. In that case, just pay 20 more and get a 4MPixel camara at any store.

This camara is meant to play games and if you suddenly want to take a picture or make a simple VGA video. I haven't done any research more, but hopefully there will be a way to chat using the PSP and the camara, just like a webcam.

Also, the two games (Invizimals and Eyepet), como also with a camara, but be aware that those camaras are 0.3 MPixels only. They are made especially for the games. So this one is much better. Luckely I got one, as they aren't sold anymore in the stores.

It has a microphone in the camara, and it records clearly, without any strange static sound or so.

Oh yes, it comes with a small plastic case, so you can store it away

I received the Go!Cam (PSP)from Amazon just 2 days after I ordered it and within 10 minutes I was using the camera. This tiny camera is 1.3 megapixel image & 30 FPS video quality and there is a built in microphone which works fine although the PSP seems to interfere with it. The 180 degree swivel for the lens is great as one can do video diaries and there is a Many mobile phones have this quality or better but are limited in screen size and memory. The PSP screen is big but in daylight difficult to see. The digital zoom is not that great and is stepped in 4 levels.

The Go!Cam has several adjustments for size and quality. Videos can be taken at full PSP res (480x272) at 30 fps and photos can be taken at either 480x272 or 640x480.

I have added 2 outdoor images so you can see for yourself.

I downloaded the latest firmaware update which has a camera icon under the Photo section. It does what it says and adds a new dimension to the PSP. There is a tiny plastic case which is a very good idea.

I can connect via USB cable to the PS3, swap memory stick of transfer my images and films to my PC and then play from my PS3 and copy to the PS3 HD. I have yet to figure out how to transfer via WiFi from PSP to PS3.

I am having problems registering for the free Go Edit! software as my PSP was purchased out from Lik-Sang in Hong Kong which Sony's lawyers have now closed down.

Good value! When will the PSP GPS be available?

Hail to all.

Well, my main reason for buying this cam was the Invizimals game, which I've won. And for that game, it works just fine.

There is no UMD or software needed to work the cam, just plug her in and start shooting.
There is however a software you can download from the internet called Go! Edit to work with this, but I found it too poor with the editing options, to be honest.

In the real world however, to use this as a regular camera, even on the it's most higher resolution it's not that much...enthusiastic.
Any modern mobile phone comes now with at least 2.0 Mpx or more, making this 1.3Mpx cam look tiny and awkward. Specially if you're going to see the pics in a HD monitor or TV, via PS3, for exemple.

The thing I like more is that as a video recorder, it's actually quite nice. Good motion display despite being just 1.3Mpx, as I've said. The sound is crappy, but hey, it's an unpretentious gadget, there are worst ones.

Very handy is the little plastic box to store the cam and protect it, like the Go! Explore gps.

A PSP, this cam and a 4Gb memory stick is a very cool combination for home videos, occasional pics or just having fun in a portable way.
