Although this product did what it said on the tin, there was nothing spectacular with the additional features and benefits it is supposed to bring to the phone. Also if your phone has a protective plastic cover, it will not fit on the connector properly and will not work. I would only recommend this product if your Xperia Play does not have a protective case, otherwise you will be forever removing the case to put on the docking station. Not worth £30 as sold officially by Sony or when the product was first released.

The Xperia Play slots into it easily, connecting the 3.5mm headphone jack & USB port for charging. There is an audio jack & cable at the back you can connect to your AMP or speakers for playing music or videos.
When docked, the UI changes to dock mode, which lets you launch the music player, photo gallery etc which is a really nice touch. If you choose neither, the phone reverts to displaying the clock, making it ideal as a bedside dock/alarm clock.
In the pack, you also get a short USB cable, and voucher codes for 3 downloadable Gameloft games.

Great bit of kit for the xperia play - The XP151 is good value at this price, I just wish they did the gaming package in white to match the phone as well, but on a minor thing. add some speakers from a 3.5mm jack and it is great. USB cable is too short to be of practicle use, but as an emergency backup it is better then nothing. The m-to-m 3.5mm cable is a bonus.
