This review is from: Sony Ericsson W810i Black - 2.0 Megapixel Camera - Bluetooth - 20MB Internal Memory (Electronics)
having been a 'nokia head' for years i have tried several phones with no avail, i looked around for a cheap mp3 player too, looking in tech mags, i came across the w800i, which had everything i could wish for, not long after, i got a white w810i, and i was in love, a phone, with good memory, lots of extras, stylish too, a great mp3 player built in too, its simple to transfer tracks over too with a USB lead, one tip too though, get a bigger memory card (memory stick pro) sizes go up to 4gb - forget the ipod nano and other phones, this has it all :)

I bought this phone on contract right when this phone came out. AND WOW what a great phone. The most important issue to me is always the UI (User Interface) and SONY has got it right always. The phone is very easy to navigate (Samsung D500 are a nightmare of options and windows- blah!), and the menu system is clean and the shortcut keys especially the left scroll (circuler silver panel in the middle) which has the SMS function is superb and handy. I know its a kinda rip off from the ipod but the design really works.
Its really light as well, and you do not feel that you have a cellular in your pocket. the battery life is great but decreases when watching videos. Its a plus being a Mac User because you can use iSync to keep your phone addressbook synced with Mac Addressbook, as well as using the phone via bluetooth to surf the internet took me seconds. NO SOFTWARE NEEDED. (I tried it on my Windows PC because the accompanying software comes with for PC and well it was a nightmare).I also used iSquint to convert all my videos to 176x144 at a video bitrate of 200kbps - the quality is great when viewed normal mode but when viewed fullscreen the video just strecthes so i do not recommend it. 1 hr movie usally came out about 20MB, absolutely nothing - I recommend buying a 1GB MS Duo Pro card. And there are so many websites with goodies for the W810 that I feel like little boy in Toyshop. Oh yeah get the USB2 Card reader transfering files to your Mac takes ages over BT until Apple sorts out the USB2 Cable software (The USB cable provided does not work properly with Mac OS X 10.4.7 - does not unmount) I recommed: 1. 1GB MS Duo Pro card. Shop around 2. 15-1 Universal USB Card reader 3. Salling Clicker for iTunes 4. iSquint (free) 5. Google for Hellmen K750 blog. Get this phone now. You will not regret it. BTW if you want to take a picture and want to get rid of the click sound, just turn on silent and then take picture,

A class act better than other music orientated mobiles,

I only got this phone yesterday but already I am so glad I did not switch to Nokia or Samsung. This phone is very stylish without being too flashy, and it is very easy to navigate. The MP3 sounds great (the best I've ever heard on a mobile), and it's really easy to transfer tracks onto it using the software. The only minor annoyance I find with this is that it takes a bit of time, but with the drag and drop simplicity of it you can't fault it really. The radio with RDS is very handy to have, and it's really simple to tune it and save stations. The camera is excellent, if a bit confusing at first, and the internet is extremely quick. Mine came with a 512MB Pro Duo memory stick which costs £15 by itself, and also a very nice set of headphones. I find them a bit small, but that might just be becuase I have big ears.
All in all a class act, and definately on a level playing field with the Samsung D900 and far superior to the Nokia 5300 Xpress Music. Plus, it's got that ultra cool Walkman logo on it in orange ;)
