This mobile is packed full of features, including radio, internet access, camera,Walkman mp3 player..oh, and you can phone people with it, too! if you shop around, you can get this for around £30:00...and at that price, I'd recommend it unreservedly. It looks really stylish, is simple to use, sound quality is excellent, and it comes with hands-free set and charger. What more could you ask for?
Well- you could ask for Bluetooth, which this doesn't have. You could ask for slightly more user friendly controls-this is operated by joystick, which is awkward until you get the hang of it. You could ask for a better-resolution camera- this one works fine, but it's only designed for very basic snapshots, really.
But this is nitpicking. It's a fine phone: for the price it's better than fine, it's a real bargain. Once again, Sony Ericsson sustain their excellent reputation. Recommended. Who needs Bluetooth anyway?

By K. L. Wren HALL OF FAME TOP 50 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
This phone does a bit of everything - it has a camera, video camera, a very good MP3 music player, sound recorder, FM radio, games, calculator, timer, stopwatch, countdown timer etc along with the usual phone functions of text messaging with a good predictive text function, address book, organiser and the ability to actually make and receive phone calls.

Despite its impressive and extensive feature list, the photos and video clips are only of low resolution and to listen to the radio you have to use the included Sony headphones with their proprietory connection plug which is expensive to replace if lost. As expected of a Sony product, the sound quality of both the radio and MP3 player is very good.

There are many unexpected features such as photo effects mode and a simple but basic editing facility which will add effects such as 'warping' photographs. The guitar string tuner was also quite a surprise but I'm not sure how useful this is in practice for a typical phone user!

The menu layout is both intuitive and logical although navigation can be quite fiddly using the tiny joystick button which will be even more fiddly for anyone with larger fingers. Battery life could also be better - I get about 3-4 days standby or 2-3 hours talktime.

In summary, this is a very good all-rounder phone which does a bit of everything and I think you would struggle to match the phone in terms of quality, build and range of features for its budget price. However, if you're looking for a phone to take quality photos then this isn't the one for you and you'll benefit from a more expensive model.

    great value 10 July 2008
when you go to mobile shops looking for a cheap pay as you go phone you see a lot of great looking phones. then you go into the lower priced section and all of a sudden. most of the phones have turned realy cheap and flimsy looking. that is why i got this. it does fm radio. but only if you plug in the headphones which it uses as an airiel. it does more than my the motorola v3 razr phones. i was quite surprised to find that this phone edited photos.
im not sure how well but it does and it records video. when you are talking on the phone the sounds are clear and not distorted. Another nice feature of the phone is that when the keypad is locked. when you press a button the the star key glows red.{they usualy are white}telling you to press that.when you press that another key glows red. which when you press unlocks the phone. the ringtones are quite good and not to in your face.buttons have a nice click to them. the only realy criticism i have of this phone is that the screen isnt that good quality. it is supperior quality to most of the budget phones out there though.one more thing is that the camera which is not that good. but most expensive phones have quite lousy cameras too. is in a quite a deep sort of reces in the back of the phone which should stop it from getting finger prints on or scuffing it up in a pocket. menus are easy to navigate. talktimes are only stated as 3 hours. but it does have 15 days standby time. you will be hard pressed to find a phone with that standby time.
