I got these with my Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray phone, and I'm pretty disappointed with them.

Basically, the problem I have is that every time you so much as touch the cable, it communicates a really loud, noticeable bass thump into the headphones. If you run your finger along the cable, or it brushes against your clothes, you get a rubbing sound. Basically, unless you like loud, deep thumping sounds in your ears ALL the time, you have to sit completely still while you listen to music with these.

The only alternative is to put them quite loosely in your ears, and then they don't sit very securely. It seems that the problem is the design of the cable, and in making it tangle resistant, they've gone and done this instead.

It's a damn shame that they have this flaw, as the sound quality is excellent, and they seem really well built.

If you have a smartphone that was made in at least the last 18 months, then - if you were to plug these in you would either get an error saying 'headset not supported', or a sound like you are sat in an echo chamber...

If you have the echo chamber, and want to know how good these can be, hold down the 'call answer' button, and you will then hear them normally...

For a permanent fix for this, you need to get a hold of an adapter like the Fiio LU1 Adapter Cable - use iPhone specific headphones on different brands of phone (for a straight jack) or Fiio LU2 Adapter Cable - use of iPhone specific headphones on different brands of phone (for a right angled jack) and then you will here what these earphones are capable of...

As a moderator over at head-fi, my expectations are high, and - these earphones for the laugh out loud money are up there with earphones costing ten or more times the price...

Be sure to play with the fit, and - if need be, play with the EQ on your device, and I virtually guarantee you'll love these little earphones for the price they're being offered at!

Enjoy!!

These work perfectly with my Xperia Arc LT15, the buttons all work with default android player and others I have tried, good quality sound and better than most earphones I have tried.

The flat cable is a god send and stops tangling cables so I can just bundle them into my pocket worry free.

The earpiece does occasionally pop out but its not an issue once you workout how to put them in etc with enough slack on the cable to turn your head.

I would definitely buy these again.

These are very cool looking headphones and they have the Sony remote. I am always a bit put out when I come to use headphones for a mobile device and they do not have a remote.

The cables are linguini shaped which is also very nifty looking.

However I am having a couple of problems with these.

The sound quality isn't as good as some other earbuds I own. Not even talking expensive Shure earbuds. This I could live with apart from the below problem.

The shape/size of the buds themselves means that they are prone to slipping out of my ears as I walk along. Particularly the left bud with the remote in it.

Now maybe I just have freakishly big ears but this is so annoying when trying to use my phone as a walkman. The shape of them basically seems to prevent any kind of decent fit with my ears. The "arms" attached to the buds seem too heavy and prone to pulling the buds out. Maybe the rubber bits are supposed to form some sort of "fit" with the ear but it's just not happening.

There are a few certain caveats to getting there to sound good AND enjoyable... I thought for £10 these were a bargain, however, a complete and utter waste of money. I actually hate these headphones to the point I pulled them off and put them in my bag as listening to London Traffic was more enjoyable than wearing them.

1. The cable noise on my set was absolutely unbearable, I'm not that sensitive to this but these are crazy loud, a desk fan would cause a low burble of micro-phonic noise through the cabling. This can be slightly reduced by routing the cables behind your ear; but this then means turning your head is difficult as the cables tug being too short/poorly laid out and the remote control is literally right under or on the back your ear which is massively irritating and unusable.

2. The remote control positioning coupled with the cable design is terrible; on my set it is literally 2 inches from the ear bud itself so too close to your ear, this means the weight pulls the buds from your ear constantly until they fall out and using the remote is impossibly fiddly if your on the move or even sat still.

3. The ear buds are a poor design; firstly they are not secured properly to the units, most headphones like this have a lip or are designed to stay on. These slip off very easily, I nearly lost a bud that fell off as I removed these from my ear and it's not like they stay in your ears well either. As above, the weight of remote pulls one side out.

4. The cable is simply too short for a behind the neck layout and as stated badly designed.
