Superb Mobile With Many Features, 30 Jun 2007
I bought my Sony Ericsson K550i before I went on holiday, and tested it out whilst I was away. At a first glance you could easily bypass this mobile on the shelf, as it doesn't really have stand out looks..........until you switch it on that is! All the keys have a stunning blue glow, along with the new shape of the keys, this mobile is hot stuff. Not to mention it looks really expensive too. I was looking for a good camera phone under £90 that was thin and light. At £79.99 from a well known mobile retailer (on 02), this is such a bargain for what it can do. At 2megapixels I was a bit concerned it wouldn't take brilliant pictures or video - boy was I wrong (it takes great pics and video!). It comes with 64mb internal memory and I got 512mb free with it. On holiday I took numerous videos and pics on the internal memory (I didn't even have to use the 512mb!)
This mobile can do so much (too much to say here). It incorporates much of the technology that usually appears only in top-end phones, AND it is easy to use. I keep discovering new things it can do - it is an exciting phone to say the least. Don't even think for a minute about buying this mobile, just buy it - you won't regret it.

You won't be disappointed., 6 Aug 2007
Well, I've (temporarily) owned quite a few phones.. the Nokia N91 8GB, the Nokia N95, the Sony Ericsson W880i (which I returned a couple of days later due to poor music quality), but this phone is the phone I've stuck with.
What speaks for this phone?
1.) It's the perfect size and weight (light, but not so light it feels cheap, not bulky at all, it'll fit into your pocket easily), the design's awesome, not in your face but by no means dull or bland. I gave the N91 away because it was too big and bulky, looked more akin to a stoneage dinosaur than to a contemporary mobile phone.
2.) The battery life is extra long lasting, I listen to music on my phone at least two hours a day and one battery load does me 5 days! I gave the Nokia N95 away because I was highly disappointed with the low battery life.
3.) The camera's totally top of the range in the 2mp class, too bad it doesn't have a flash, merely an LED light.
4.) The quality of the music player is TOPS (and this coming from an ultra audiophile person). I suggest buying Walkman earphones for it though, and jacking your own phones into it, the ones that come with the phone ain't much good if you're an avid music fan. I exchanged the W880i because for a reason not known to me the music player is terrible. (Not all Walkman players are, don't know what they did wrong with the W880i, like, it sounded compacted and especially terrible if you listen to electronic music on it). The K550i player also goes up to a decent volume, which is important (some music can only be enjoyed at a higher volume!)
The music sounds balanced, the bass is rich and full and it sounds like computer playback. Awesome.
Now a couple of downsides
1.) The whole thing isn't put together quite right, when you press the battery cover it squeaks like the door to grandma's attic (this problem can easily be eradicated by placing a piece of paper between the battery and the lid, though).
2.) The music player doesn't have features like the one enabling you to jump to an artist or song on the playlist by typing their first letter on the keypad. Why? Marketing. *Dare the cyber shot music players be better than the Walkman ones!* Eh, another potentially awesome thing spoilt by marketing.
3.) The Micro SD port is under the battery lid, so you have to open it up everytime you want to change the medium / take it out.
I'm happy with it, it's a good and reliable phone. Get it, there's not many like it, despite what you may think now.

I was looking for a new mobile because my old one was knackered so i looked around and eventualy decided 2 buy this phone. i chose against the newer modles (k800/k850) firstly cost seccondly they were a bit too chunky. This phone has a decent camera 2.0 mp but strugles a bit whith darkness but when you turn the flash on the actual flash is very strong. The lens cover is much better made on this than any other cybershot its prety sturdy and stiff to open but thats a good thing on the k800 the cover slides around wasting batery. it as a decent in built speaker which goes prety high but there is not much diference between the diferent levels. The music player is prety intelegent for a 3rdly use it categorys the music into artist/albums/tracks/playlists its very usefull. the thing i was woried about when i bought the phone was would the music player still work if i exit? it does. (if u want to use this as a muisic phone then i sugest to buy a 2 gig card because the 75 or so mb in the phone allready are not enough to suport a large library of tunes). The most annoying thing about the phone is that the keys are stumps instead of the avrage push ones they realy wear the skin on ur thumbs down if u txt a lot. the aplications on the phone are prety good the calender tasks toodooliist is very good. there is also very good links from places for instance you put a brthday in a pop up would come up asking: "would you like this birthday to be added to the calender?" and you chose yes the birthday appeers in the calender for as long as ul have the phone. while im on the topic of siortcuts i want to tell you if ur looking at pictures of the phone thinking what the butons to the left and right of the soft keys are the one on the left is a shourt cut to mobile internet(eccesively priced on 02 pay as u go) and the one on the right is a short cut to newevents/runningapps/shortcuts(numerus)/internetlincs. I think this is a very good phone beautifull stylish reliable and very good in built systems.
