I did lots of searching and reading reviews before I went with this sony dvd player. Although it's not the cheapest on the market it is a really good price (under £100). I was AMAZED at the quality of the screen. It is really easy to use and has a great battery life. The additional cables for connecting to a TV and charge in the car are a bonus and the remote is useful if using in the home. If you are looking for a really good portable dvd player don't buy any other one but this one.

I have the previous version of this portable dvd player in blue, I also had it in pink but it kept breaking so I had to return it.
They have changed the shape and buttons slightly. Before the outer part of the dvd player used to be shiny and smooth. I purchased the pink version now and it's like a matt texture. I will upload a picture shortly so you will be able to see what I mean. Looks wise I preferred it before but I much prefer this new finish because it won't scratch as easily as the old version. Children are not exactly careful when handling these items.
The older version had a 5 hour battery life and I was surprised to see that is has now decreased to 4hrs not a big difference.
The best improvement of all is the picture quality. It is nowhere as pixelated as the old version. The image is lovely and crisp and I am really pleased with that.
They also changed the charger .. thank God for that! it is much sturdier! the old one broke easily and I had to tape it to keep it together! The remote has also been changed with one that can be used with standard AA batteries and it's bigger so it wont get lost as easily.
Overall the quality has much improved and the price has decreased by at least £30. I am very pleased with it and my daughter is chuffed with her new pink dvd player.

After lots of searches I chose the Sony over the slightly cheaper brands. I wasn't disappointed. The sound and picture quality are fantastic. I've also played cds and the sound is great and the volume goes plenty high enough for use at home too. The screen is a good size and the dvd player seems robust (after flights, trains and a ferry journey...all intact!). Just as an extra the 'red' colour looks great! So happy with this purchase!

Great product
Great, well built DVD player. When used with headphones battery lasts a long time. Picture and sound quality brilliant. Could do with a case.

Battery life is great
The 4 hour battery life is great. One of the problem with portable DVD players is that you are luck to get 2-3 hours out of them which isnt much use for travelling. Read more
