The Sony DVP-F21 looks completely different to any other DVD player on the market: it can be installed vertically or horizontally, it can even be mounted on the wall. Despite these capabilities, Sony has compromised none of the core features or functions found in its mainstream DVD players. The DVP-F21 can be positioned on any of three axes and its super-slim 180 mm depth means it can fit into the tightest space imaginable. The silver toned DVP-F21 features an eye-catching and radically different design that complements any modern style-conscious living environment.
Despite its compact dimensions and incredibly low weight, the DVP-F21 possesses the core audiovisual technology that differentiates Sony from other manufacturers. One important facility, Sony's new Precision Drive2 System--including new High Speed Stepping motor and the Dynamic Tilt Compensation mechanism--provides faster and more accurate tracking of playback of DVDs. Compatible with any kind of DVD-Video disc, Precision Drive2 compensates for disc warp and other disc imperfections. As well as playing CDs and DVDs, the new player features CD-R/CD-RW playback capabilities, allowing users to enjoy their personal music collection as well as the latest DVD releases.
With respect to exciting sound quality, TV Virtual Surround sound--digital sound created from a discrete multi-channel source--optimises the surround sound quality of your TV set's existing speakers to provide an enhanced surround sound effect without multi-channel speakers. A Centre Level Up facility provides clear dialogue, even during fast action sequences, while dynamic, wide, night and standard sound settings are also available. This feature also works with Stereo (two-channel) equipment. A night mode moderates high volume passages in order to minimise possible disturbance if the player is used in a bedroom late at night.
The DVP-F21 features advanced SmoothScan Picture Search for seamless transition between video frames. A customer parental control prohibits access to discs with a personalised code while a sophisticated remote allows you to operate every function of this advanced player.

Alright, this DVD player is super! It is wonderfully small, excellent features, and the wires are incased within the player. The virtual surround is good, and with a Digital Surround setup this baby is awsome. Incredibly, while it looks good from the front, it looks best when it is vertical, with a brilliant glass top that lets yo see the disk playing. And there is no drive to brake, merly put the disk against the slot and wheels rool in to pull the disk in. V.Cool to watch. And it offers alternate viewing angels. Go for It
