I've been recording onto DVD for some time now, and have subsequently tried several brands of blank disks. Quite a few have required formatting several times to keep them operational, and eventually have become unusable.
These Sony RW's are all I use now as I have never had a single one that has failed or let me down, and the recorded quality is everything that you'd expect from this company.

To be honest I've never used any non-Sony DVDs in my recorder, I think you get what you pay for. These always perform well, no matter how many times I've over-written them.
