Capturing a breathtaking landscape or beautiful skyscape in its entirety is now easy and fun thanks to the camera’s Sweep Panorama mode. It allows you to photograph wide views of up to 224 degrees – wider than most professional wide angle lenses. Sweep Panorama works by shooting a high-speed burst of frames as you sweep the camera from side to side or up and down. Images are then automatically stitched together by the camera to create one amazing panoramic image.

Don’t want to miss that spontaneous moment by having to pick the perfect photo settings? Let the W530 do everything for you automatically. Intelligent Auto mode takes the effort out of getting great photos whatever the conditions. Intelligent Scene Recognition means the camera can automatically determine the optimal settings for nine common scenes, (Twilight / Twilight Portrait / Twilight using a tripod / Backlight / Backlight Portrait / Landscape / Macro / Portrait / Close Focus), so you won’t have to make any time-consuming adjustments, can shoot with confidence and get great results. Or alternatively turn off auto mode and select shooting conditions yourself with the 9 preset modes available with scene selection, the choice is yours.

Put a smile on every face

Face Detection automatically adjusts the exposure, focus and skin tone of your shot so the photos you take of your friends and family look more natural. The new Soft Skin mode uses this Face Detection technology to automatically soften wrinkles, freckles and dullness, as well as adding definition to the eyes and mouth, perfect for individual or group portraits of up to eight people. Smile Shutter is another handy feature. When activated, your W530 will automatically take pictures when people smile. It’s great for capturing spontaneous smiles and ensures friends and family will always look their best in your photos. Both features allow you to automatically detect up to 8 faces, combined with the in-camera red eye reduction function results are simple. Great photos every time.

Make mini movies

Wish you could capture more than just one moment? Now you can. The W530 also doubles as a mini video recorder. Point and shoot it to capture crisp, clear video clips with sound. It’s easy to transfer everything you’re mini movies onto your computer or even share them with the world by uploading them to YouTube, Photobucket or other photo or video sharing sites. The Movie record feature requires SD Memory Card (Class 2 or higher) or SDHC/SDXC Memory Card (Class 2 or Higher).

There’s no need for shadows, glare or backlights to ruin your photos. The Dynamic Range Optimiser (DRO Standard and Plus) feature on the W530 works with the shadows and light to give you more natural-looking images and clearer details. So what your eye sees, you get in your snaps. It works by using a sophisticated algorithm to analyse each region of an image. Then, if adjustments are needed for brightness, contrast or to even out backlit scenes, it performs them. The results? Clear shots and natural images you’ll be delighted with.
