I use this with my mobile phone and I am generally pleased with it. The sound quality is excellent as you'd expect from Sony and the price is very reasonable. The microphone on the device is very good and never a problem during phone conversations. It has a long battery life, and I only need to recharge them every couple of days or so.

However, the device itself is a bit big and clunky. There are clips that fit behind your ears to keep the headphones in place but because of the size and the weight of the ear phones (especially the right hand side one that has all the bits inside it) they never feels comfortable but they always feel as though they're about to fall off. When you are walking, it flaps around a bit (and I don't have malformed ears- just average) and it would certainly fly off if I had to run to catch my train. This affects the sound considerably. I am constantly adjusting the position of them and this leads to my other gripe. There are controls on the headphone themselves such as volume, play, ff, rew etc. but there are no 'hold' or 'lock' buttons. This means that every-time I adjust my headphone, I knock the controls and end up skipping to the next track.

Although the Bluetooth signal is almost always good, if I walk down the City of London with these headphones and my mobile in my trouser pocket, music jumps every second or so making it unlistenable. This is not a design fault as such but the nature of Bluetooth devices and the effect of 'signal smog' that you experience in the city.

Having said all this, I'm still quite pleased with it.

When I first saw the price of these headphones I didn't think that they would be much good! How wrong was I!?!?

I use them with my Sony Ericsson W950 and they are fantastic.

Sound- The sound is much better than I was expecting and far better than the headphones that were supplied with the phone.

Comfort- They are very comfortable, sitting down, walking around, bending over, moving your head from side to side are all fine. However, I wouldn't like to try and jog with them on, as they'd probably fly off!!!

Practicality- You can do everything that you need to do by using the buttons built into the headphones ffwd, rew, stop, play, vol, power on-off etc. This means that you can leave your phone in your pocket/bag/ etc.

If your phone supports voice dialing, you can even do that through the headphones! As they have a built in hidden mic!

If you get an incoming call whilst listening to music, the music stops and you hear the ring tone, you then just press the side of the headphone to answer the call! Once the call has finished the music automatically starts where it was stopped.

Build quality- What you would expect from Sony! Very good.

I would highly recommend these headphones to anyone who is looking for a cheap, reliable, well made pair of bluetooth headphones to use with their mobile phone.

I hope that this review was helpful.

Verified Purchase
I have tried three different stereo headsets now and these are the best yet for my requirements.

Comparing form factors:
Being a long distance commuter I don't need the bulk of a strap, this was a particular pain with the Motorola HT820 phones. Also I didn't like the Plantronics PL-260 with its dongle and headphones. The Plantronics wires get easily tangled and the point of the bluetooth connectivity is to get rid of tangled wires. I also found myself catching the dongle and pinging the headphones out of my ears. The retractable wire between the headphone on the Sony's is ideal for putting the headphones away without tangle.

Sound reproduction:
I found both the Motorola and Plantronics have a high pitched hiss and tended to be very treble biased. The sound reproduction on the Sony headphones is clean and even. For those who like it loud the Sony's should be winner (Motorola was ok and the Plantronics very quiet).

Comfort:
The Sony's are difficult to put on one handed, although I am sure this will improve over time. Once seated they stay put and are compfortable. I was worried that the clip type headphones would foul on my glasses, but its not be a problem at all. I found the Plantronics a real pain and tended to drop out of my ear with any head movement. The neck strap of the Motorola headphones was difficult to place at a comfortable angle and I tended to knock it on the back of a chair or headrest.

My one and only gripe with the Sony headphones is the charger. I have another charger to carry when I go away!

I bought this item in the hope that I could use it with my iPod or PSP. However, upon receiving the item I found that this headset will only work with a bluetooth enabled device and did not come with a bluetooth transmiter so that it can be used with a non-bluetooth device.

Having said this, if you use your mobile phone as a media player then this headset is phenominal. I have now started using this device with my phone and it works a treat. The signal is always strong, the sound quality is as good as any other headphones I have used, and the controls on the headphone mean that you can leave your phone in your pocket while controlling what you are listening too. The microphone is also very good on this headset and I am now using it as my handsfree kit in my car.

Overall this is a great headset to use, but do not buy this if you are looking to use it with an iPod or non-bluetooth device.
