No need to waste time with settings. The SX45 takes care of everything with iAuto – the perfect answer to high quality filming no matter how tricky the light. This intelligent scene recognition feature adjusts light and focus settings to give you the best possible results wherever and whenever you are. Up to 11 preset scenes can be selected including Auto/Twilight/Candle/Sunrise & Sunset/Fireworks/Landscape/Portrait/Spotlight/Sports(video only)/Beach/Snow. Getting going is quick and easy too - just flip open the screen, touch the start key and you're ready to shoot.

Touch and go

The SX45 sports an easy-to-navigate 3.0-inch (7.5cm) touch screen so you can compose your scenes with ease and enjoy finely detailed playback. Being a touch screen, you get fingertip control over menus and settings while its large size allows you to view footage with friends, seconds after you’ve shot it.

Connect and share

No point keeping all those great memories in your camcorder. With its built-in USB cable, SX45 connects in a moment to your PC for transferring video and stills. What’s more, the PMB Portable software inside Handycam® launches automatically for quick and easy web uploading – ideal of you want to share movies via your favourite social networking sites or Personal Space. Convenient features

When filming people, Face Detection kicks in to adjust camera settings so that natural skin tones are preserved and up to eight faces stay in focus. Smile Shutter is another handy feature that when activated, automatically takes pictures when people smile. There's also an on-board video light to brighten up parties, interiors and other dimly-lit scenes.

Have fun with your movies

Supplied in the box is Picture Motion Browser (PMB) software. Just install it on your PC and you'll have no trouble organising your videos and photos. PMB makes a perfect archive for your home movies - arrange them by date or person and search quickly with a few clicks of the mouse. If you want to share them with friends and family, burn them to disc or upload to your favourite video sharing site in seconds.
