This camcorder has everything one could want, and then some. It does take a little time to learn how to use, like most gagets. It has the usual features such negative, sepia, black and white, solarise, slim, stretch, pastel and mozaic. Widescreen mode! A nifty fader button adds a nice touch and a choice of six wipes. Seeing things in the dark is a real bonus and brings some interesting usage... The Zoom on this is incredible! I haven't seen any available at this price with this zoom!
Jacks: Almost all the outputs! S-video out, A/V out, DV out, and a micro USB port. You don't see this accept in more high-end cameras. I have not yet tried to connect it to the PC but I will. A standard stereo headphone output is on the side.
Inputs... Well, it has a mic. Also, an LANC port used to control some of the functions (I don't think many will use it.) umm thats it. As far as I can see, there are NO other inputs. This means edited footage on a PC can not be re-uploaded back into the camera in a simple fasion. I wish it did have a DV input, since it has everything else.
A remote is included with the kit, used to control when it is conected to a VCR or TV. Direct connection to a TV requires a scart socket (Of course- It is digital!) I would sugested in using it to the VCR, since it can be easily converted to standard VHS this way. Most modern VCRs have this facility.
You get 8mb of memory, and a (sort of) usable battery. Well, better ones can be bought seperately.
Overall, a good investment.
