I have always been a great fan of Sony products and this CD player is no exception.
This player is ultra slim and seems pretty robust with a sleek look to it.
The player itself easily delt with my collection of CD-R's which i was very happy about.
It comes with rechargeable battiers and charger and has a quoted life of up to 50 hours.(i haven't tested this yet)
The only real downside is that the remote isn't backlit and doesn't display text, but this isn't a real big issue.
I am very happy with my purchase and for this price i highly recommend it.

This is the best discman i have bought.
Jog proof,nice sound(not scratchy) and sleek design.
I would recommend it to anybody.
The sound is perfect and its got 50h playback.

I've always held Sony in high regard with mid range, mass market devices such as these - indeed I believe this area is their stronghold.
This beautiful white CD player, on appearances at least, is no deviation from their Sony's excellence; it is however, in the area of sound quality that the problems start.
Playing a variety of original and copied CD's produced, mixed results, however it was clear that the sounds obtained via either were not as clear as those from my 4/5 year old Panasonic player!! I thought this may be down to my Sennheiser headphones on the Panasonic device, so swapped them only to get a dramatic drop in volume, and alas, the same sound quality.
Sorry sony - it doesn't end there.
Then the Bass boost. Sony market the digital bass boost as though it would be better than an analog bass boost system. Better for sony as it is much cheaper to produce - unfortunately, worse for the consumer, resulting in un-natural sounding bass which, at higher volumes, distorted wildly.
Its not all bad though - for your money, you get a pair of rechargeable batteries, a battery holder and a charger included (as well as headphones obviously)!
Overall, a rather mediocre 3/5.
Definitely not the worst,
DEFINITELY not the best.
