Value & Performance Meets Slim, Stylish Looks The Cyber-shot DSCW35 Camera From Sony

Design and Build

Design and Build

Slender, stylish and highly affordable, this W Series Cyber-shot camera doesn’t compromise on looks, handy features or great imaging performance. Light and compact enough to slip easily into a pocket or bag, the Cyber-shot W35 is distinguished by it’s durable metal face. Plus a large 2’’ LCD screen.

Megapixels

Megapixels

Digital photos are made up of dots of coloured light called pixels (picture element). To make a photo requires millions of pixels (Megapixels). The more Megapixels a camera has, the smoother and clearer the photos will be. So, Crisp, clear images are assured courtesy of the 7.2 effective Megapixel sensor
and Real Imaging Processor.

Anti-Blur

Anti-Blur

Setting the user-friendly Mode Dial to High Sensitivity (REI)* mode boosts the maximum sensitivity of the camera to ISO 1000: this makes it easier to grab blurfree pictures, even when you’re shooting indoors without flash or in low light conditions.

ZOom

Zoooom

The high quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens offers a 3x optical zoom range and a 6x digital zoom capability along with a combined 14x Smart Zoom. The lens can also focus right down to 2cm shooting distance for extreme close-ups in Macro mode. Shots can be framed using the optical viewfinder as an alternative to the 2-inch LCD screen.

Sound and Vision

Sound and Vision

The movie function will record not only the visual image, but the sound to go with it, so you can really capture the moment. All of which can be played back via your TV, as well as viewing all your shots on TV too.

On Screen Funtion Guide

On Screen Funtion Guide

The handy Function Guide provides an on-screen description of each shooting mode, making it easier to pick exactly the right mode for any subject.

Extra memory

Extra memory

Its easy to get carried away with shots that are so easy to take, so if your memory card fills up, or you forgot to put it in – we’ve all done it - there’s an extra 56MB of memory built in.

Battery

Battery

The energy-efficient design of the DSCW35 delivers up to an impressive 380 shots between charges, so there’s less chance of missing that once-in-a-lifetime moment because you’re searching in a bag or pocket for a spare battery.

Pictbridge Direct Print

Pictbridge Direct Print

Pictbridge allows images to be printed directly from digital camera to a printer, without having to connect the camera to a computer.
PictBridge-capable printers typically have a USB Type A port which is then connected by cable to the USB port of a PictBridge-capable digital camera (typically a Type Mini-B). The user then uses the camera to select the pictures to print, which the printer then retrieves from the camera and prints.

By Philip Mayo VINE™ VOICE
The compact camera that my wife and I previously owned was lost or stolen after we had had it for less than 6 months. It was quite expensive and it took fine photos and we were naturally upset by its loss. Anyway, not wanting to risk losing such an expensive one again we replaced it a short while ago with the much less expensive Sony Cyber-shot W35. We were delighted to find that despite its very good price it is at least as good as the one we lost, and in some respects is better. So paying twice as much for a camera doesn't necessarily guarantee any noticeable improvement in quality of photos or ease of use !!

I would heartily recommend the Cyber-shot W35 to anyone looking for a quality camera which is straightforward to use. Of course there are lots of fancy options on it (most of which we have never used) for taking photos under varying types of conditions - we just use "auto" for almost all shots, or the video option for taking shorts video clips, complete with sound. It has already allowed us to add some beautiful family shots and clips to our collection.

The camera also has, which our previous one did not, a real-zoom viewfinder. This is much more traditional and comfortable to use than the LCD zoom. (There is, of course, a full LCD screen as well, including LCD zoom).

It is very light to carry; you would barely notice it in your pocket or hooked to your belt or bag. The battery is rechargeable (MUCH BETTER than replacement batteries) and has excellent capacity. It's a lovely, simple-to-use camera and we highly recommend it.

Amazon Verified Purchase
Extremely good shots in difficult conditions in low light (on moving footplate of 50 - 60 mph steam locomotive) yet pocket sized, attractive looks and robust. Carl Zeiss lens is a big plus - worthwhile getting external memory card (good value again from Amazon) No longer using my more expensive Canon camera.
