6 of 6 people found the following review helpful By Mr Baz #1 REVIEWER#1 HALL OF FAME on 4 May 2014
The Sony WX220 is a very small compact with a fairly large and useful zoom range. Overall I'm quite impressed with the camera esp in normal lighting where the images are quite sharp and show good detail. The tiny package makes for a useful travel camera which won't take up any space at all.

One of the better offerings from Sony recently, and a decent affordable superzoom.

Pros:
+ Handy 10x (25-250mm equivalent zoom range) Gives you a nice wide angle and a fairly respectable telephoto end
+ Good image quality in good light (lower ISO levels), attractive well exposed images with appealing colours
+ Lens produced some surprisingly sharp images even at the wide end (25mm) with no corner smearing. Tele end performs well too.
+ Autofocus is quite quick (for a compact) and mostly on target
+ Well built small and light body (metal exterior feels solid enough)
+ Easy to use, simple menus and operation. Has Wi-Fi and NFC
+ 5cm macro mode isn't bad for close up work
+ Flash exposures quite good indoors
+ 2.7" 460k LCD is easy to see in most lighting and sharp enough to check images
+ Good quality AVCHD video with full HD 1,920 x1,080 at 50p. You can zoom during video (and the motor is quiet) and AF works well. Details are good for a compact shooting HD video, and above average stereo sound

Cons:
- No manual controls (but some useful modes like sweep pano, Handheld Twilight)
- Image quality drops off in low light above ISO 400 (noise reduction is too strong here)
- Lens speed a bit slow at the telephoto end F5.9, wide end is F3.
