5.0 out of 5 stars A Very Good Camera, 15 Jun 2005
By A Customer
This review is from: Sony Cyber-SHOT DSC-W1 Digital Camera (Electronics)
In my opinion this is one of he best digital cameras for the price, or it was. The start up time and the low shutter lag (almost not there) is fantastic when compared to the competition. The movie mode is excellent, with 3 quality choices, and it will also record sound, but you cannot zoom whilst recording. The 2.5" screen is also very nice (it has a good resolution as well), but it is UNPROTECTED. This means you have to be very careful (and make other people be careful too) not to bump the screen, or even press into it with your fingers. The biggest problem i have encountered so far is that you can only choose between two aperture sizes, which means if you want to blur movement (with a low shutter speed) the image is often over-exposed, but this can only be a problem in 'Manual' mode. The size may trouble some people, it is just about comfortably pocketable. However even with these problems, I think it is a very good camera, and i would recommend buying one (or maybe a more up to date model like the W5)
