Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Everybody knows that Gran Turismo is the most statistic-crunchingly realistic driving game ever made. Simple. What isn't so simple is describing exactly what the awkwardly named GT Concept 2002 Tokyo-Geneva actually is. It's not a sequel, it's not a mission disk, but it is exclusive to Europe. Sort of. There have already been a few GT Concept games released in Japan in the last couple of years, all themed around famous motor shows in Tokyo, Seoul and Geneva. This is a sort of best-of collection of those that, for no readily apparent reason, will not be sold in the US.

GT Concept 2002 has two main goals: to provide a version of Gran Turismo 3 that's easier to get into and play, and to include a whole heap of brand new motors including special concept cars that you normally only see at the aforementioned motor shows. And pleasingly it does exactly this, with the new driving aids being particularly welcome to anyone who has ever had trouble with the game's notoriously sensitive control system.

If you own a PS2 and you're even remotely interested in driving cars very fast around beautiful looking tracks then you simply must own a Gran Turismo game--and this is the perfect place to start. If you're already a fan, though, this is the ideal stopgap until the next full sequel comes along. Which basically works out as a bit of win-win situation, especially at this pleasingly non-rip-off price. --David Jenkins

Play Magazine

"Stunningly beautiful... [but] it would have been good to have more depth to the gameplay. 79%."

Gran Turismo Concept is more of dumbed down version of GT3, in the sense that it has fewer cars, tracks and no Gran Turismo mode. But on the whole it is a fairly decent game. Racers will have the selection of 10 tracks to race on and choice of 100 cars which include the new Ford GT, Volkswagen W12 and the Dodge Viper GTS-R Concept.
However, Gran Turismo veterans will find the challenges pretty easy and may find that there's not enough depth. On the
plus side, novices to series are bound to find this a worthy challenge.
My advice is, if you're a petrol head and dont mind a shorter-depth Gran Turismo, or if you're new to the series then buy this. If you prefer a racing game with a more depth, then look elsewhere.

I love GT3, so bought this game. The racing, tracks and graphics are just as good as GT3, but I am disappointed that having spent £15 (not that much less than GT3) I have almost completed the game after just a few hours.
You can get 10,000,000 credits to transfer to GT3 by just completing the Concept licenses and normal tracks, so I would recommend this game for anyone who has just started playing GT3 and wants some easy money so they can buy some decent cars, etc.
But I think anyone who hasn't bought GT3 and tries this may be put off buying the real thing.
I love GT3, but value for money means that I can only give this 3 stars.

Great While It Lasts 20 Feb 2004
Format:Video Game
I got this game for Christmas last year, it was a great game, I played it all Christmas day, until I finished it. On Christmas day. I've played it all of twice since. For GT fans like me, it is a must, but, if you are new to the GT series, wait for GT4.

Good
This isn't a full Gran Turismo title but it is still fun. You can only win the cars in this version compared to others.

A dumbed down version of GT3
In a paraphrase this game is like GT3 minus the GT Mode. Therefore technically it shouldn't be called Gran Turismo. Read more

A very good game if you don't own GT3, if a bit short. If you own GT3, stay away as there is little new here, accept a few new lovely cars. It is also a bit easy if you own GT3. Read more
