The best rhythm action game of all time!,

I first came across this game when there was a competition at Uni... basically its like a 3D beat 'em up but instead of fighting, you have to out-dance your opponent! You pull off moves by using combinations of the directional buttons followed by one of the shaped buttons which has to be pressed dead on the beat. There are different moves displayed on the screen to give high scoring combos - get those right and you can't lose... well except if your opponent chooses a special attack to knock you down and you forget to dodge! Its great as a 1 player against the computer but even better against a friend! You can really sort out who has the most rhythm!The graphics are excellent - a little basic but bright, colourful with interesting characters (kind of on par with Tekken 2). The soundtrack is what really makes the game - all specially created tracks by the Bomfunk MCs (remember 'Freestyler'?) in totally different tempos and genres. All of them are really addictive and you'll find yourself playing just to hear the music! There is also a dance mat mode if you're feeling energetic. As well as beating every dance mat game, this is better than Parappa, Um Jammer Lammy, Vib-Ribbon... all great games but this one takes it with its combination of excellent controls (mixture of frantic combos and dead-on rhythm), 2 player option and insanely catchy soundtrack. Nearly 7 years on and I still dig it out every now and again... if you own a PlayStation or PS2, you should buy this game!!

Bust a Groove is one of the best games for playstation with awesome musicand cool characters it is pure brilliance. It is also compatable withdance mat. All of the characters have there own reason for wanting to usethe Groovetron andyou must put your dancing skills against 12 othercharacters. Once you complete certain characters, secret ones areunlocked. You can also watch completed characters dance on their own indance view, as I say it is a true classic I believe everyone should own acopy.
