No mine is used in a Nissan Micra and sounds good. It should work with any cassette player so try it I am sure you won't be disappointed

Yes it should. It had a standard 3.5mm headphone jack that works with all phones with such a port

Check if the tape is still in it's right position, it could have gone slightly off the track

The audio jack on the cassette is the same as any headphones so if regular headphones fit the cassette will too

Yes, I use it with an iphone5, using the earphone socket, not the lightening connector. Works fine.

The cable should always be facing outwards from the unit. The other end plugs into your phone/MP3 player.

Yes it will. It fits into the standard headphone socket on your iPod.
