My one caveat here is that I've only had the hi-fi for one day, but assuming it's not going to explode in the next week here are my thoughts.
- It was incredibly easy to set up. Pretty much a case of plug in and you're off. Once powered up, it's easy to flick between CD/iPod/DAB/FM. It scanned for and found all DAB stations as soon as I switched it on. Having never used an iPod dock before I was worried it would be a pain to get ready, but again all I had to do was stick it on and it was playing.
- I struggled to get decent FM reception with my last stereo. With this one, I didn't even need to open up the aerial (it's wound up and hidden from view at the back) and the reception is great. DAB reception is also excellent.
- Sound quality is superb and I was delighted to find that, unlike many micro hi-fis, instead of attached or plug-in speakers it uses proper speaker wire slots, meaning you could plug in bigger and more expensive speakers if you wished.
- I've struggled to think of any negative points, but if I was pushed... No AM radio but most of these stations will be on DAB anyway, and I don't find the metal faceplate particularly attractive but I doubt I'll notice this after a day or two.
Finally, this seems to be compatible with all iPod and iPhone versions. I've struggled for months to find a decent dock/hi-fi that was compatible with my 5th Gen Nano, but the Sony CMT-FX350 has not only met my expectations but exceeded them.
