I've had a Sony Ericsson MW-600 for years but recently found the battery wasn't holding a good charge to last through the day so I thought I'd look at Sony's latest models.
The SBH50 seemed great, good battery life, multi line display, firmware can be upgraded... I also liked the apps you could install on the phone for different functions, things like access to the call log, phone book and reading text messages. Super flexible!
So I got the SBH50 and initially was very happy. It operates whilst charging, a big improvement, and the plastic clip looks much better than the one on the MW600 which broke fairly soon after I got it.
Didn't take long to pair with my phone and I was soon installing apps and playing, there's a wealth of information you can see on the device, missed calls, texts, facebook. Sound quality is good and it can even read out incoming messages, great!
Then I came to make a call, pressed the big button and nothing. Pressed a couple of times, still nothing. I was expecting voice dialling to kick in, it works on the MW600. Maybe this needs to be setup? Or perhaps I missed an app??
No, this updated device doesn't support voice dialling so you're back to fishing out the phone to make a call!
So much for hands-free, come on Sony it can't be beyond you to produce an app for this purpose?
