Good Disc

Worked like a charm. Best on the market right now. But do your calculations. If it's a 3 hour movie and you write at 2x it's still going to take you 1.5 hours. I had 45 gigs to write and wow even at 2x that was a long time.

I purchased this BD-RE DL at the same time as a TDK BD-RE Dual Layer Blu Ray Disc. I then burned a different ISO image onto each disc, the one burned onto the TDK being slightly larger than the one on the Sony. Using the same computer, software and burner, the Sony BD-RE took almost three times longer to complete its burn. I suppose this could be some compatibility issue with my Pioneer Blu Ray burner, I don't know if that is the case. I do know I will be avoiding Sony BD-RE products from now on.

This disc is exactly what I needed. Rather than buying and wasting many expensive BD-R discs, this allows me to screen short segments of an HD film with no drawbacks or wasted materials.
The disc itself is high quality. The 2x recording speed can feel slow sometimes but for all the data being written it is very reasonable. The jewel case it comes in seems sturdy and ready to last a long time. Sony makes great products and I look forward to many films ending up on this disc.
One more thing: the description does not make it completely clear if this is a rewritable disc or not but it IS in fact rewritable. Trust the picture.
