Yes you can. I successfully set mine up two days ago.

Hi, Neill, no 4OD at present but does have BBC I player and Demand 5 as well as a huge number of other things too numerous to list. I guess this will come with a software update. For what it's worth, I have absolutely no regrets about buying this machine.

This device only has: a USB input on front and a LAN (100) terminal on the back. There are also two outputs on the back: HDMI and Digital (Coaxial).

Sorry can't advise as mine is a 4100 but it only has an HDMI connection. They may vary between models

I have this player and can confirm it does NOT play region 1 DVDs.

It won't be sold as multi-region. It has to be adapted which is quite simple. If you want multi-region you should contact the seller. Amazon won't do it for you.

From what I understand, not many types of equipment except a Sky box are able to provide ITV or 4OD. No Sony stuff does and I think only Samsung is the exception. It could be due to licencing issues but questions about this have been asked since 2010 and it still isn't resolved. My guess is that if it is a licencing issue and if it will cost to the manufacturers, it will not be resolved. We have to live in hope that the next firmware update (if there is one) will have these facilities.

As long as you have wifi in your property no additional products are necessary. Just plug it in and away you go

I do not have the BDP-S3100 and have the BDP-S4100 which does not have built in WiFi but I just have mine plugged in via an Ethernet Cable I can of coarse use a Dongle to get WiFi and I certainly would not have to buy the special one Sony are trying to sell you for the same price as the player and what a complete rip off that is I can assure you. But as long as your device is connected to the internet then of coarse Sony's smart TV App will work. I have them installed on my Samsung Galaxy S2 Tab and my S3 Phone and they work a treat.

Too early to say for sure, but I would expect not.
